Further explaination of the theme in the words of CCShaft7.

"Just capture an image with reflections, be as subtle or abstract as you like. Use any surface
or feature like metal, glass, rims, headlights, puddles or wet surfaces, buildings or even other
cars in shot etc."

Cars: Any (and more than one in shot allowed)
Locations: Any
Phototravel: Yes
Unique Restrictions: None (would advise to be a bit more creative than just
photographing a 'chrome' painted car though).
Good Luck to everyone.

You may notice that this week there are 12 poll entries. CCShaft7 and I felt this week the number and quality of entries warranted extending the poll limit a little. :)
This will become the norm if participation in this comp continues to grow.

I like yours better than some others up there dude.

I think mine should be up there too.

But sadly its not our choice but the judge's choice and he may just have a different taste of pics :)

Some fantastic entries up there. That Beetle is sweet. :dopey:

Mine for those curious. I think it probably ended up a bit dark on the bottom.

A lot of great ideas, but unfortunately many of them looked very blurry and low-res in full view.

Oh, and I'm in. ;)

second that with the blurry pics, but regardless of that, the Beetle just looks gorgeous with the sky on it!!!!!

The idea on the Beetle and the full frontal reflection of the Cobra is extremely well thought out. I felt that the GT by Citroën Road Car is just amazing. Love the tone. All my comments here = Amazing work this week guys. 👍

Oh, and I just noticed. I think we should just highlight the 'no sigs' now that much more people are entering. We have one shot that has a tiny signature. I didn't notice it until my 4th look at it. :P

apologies for taking so long to get back to answering some of your questions... real life gets in the way sometimes :grumpy:

@Mynock005 Your composition is fine but it kinda falls down in two places. The 'reflection' is a bit bland and subdued which leads me on to my second thing and it could be due to the fact its in a slightly underexposed B/W. Maybe another filter or no filter at all might have transformed it..... I hope this helps.

@Crushed The main problem I had with your entry was the 'helpful' advice I tried to set out in the theme description and it was to maybe avoid just photographing a chrome car, the Beetle shot worked because of its unusual angle, composition and clever use of the cloud features whereas yours is a very generic photmode shot I've seen dozens of times in the forums. Try to be more creative with focal lengths and angles to stand out from the crowd 👍

@DigitalBaka It wasn't really the dark area you mentioned that concerned me but the 'whiteout' between the sky and car. It looks over-exposed to me and detracted from the reflections you captured which at full size look good.... esp in the headlamps.

These are just my honest and truthful opinions and I hope you all take these on in a constructive way. A different judge on a different day would probably see otherwise so its just a preference thing :sly:

Standard was high guys and I enjoyed this one a lot, Good luck to everyone 👍

I know why I didn't make the poll seeing such amazing entries up there, but I'd just like to know your opinion on my shot please ccshaft :) thanks, I think this was the one (I've gotten a bit confused as I took so many that were basically the same :dunce:)

If you say so.

That was my other area of concern as I couldn't do too much with it. Thanks for the feedback! 👍

That's rude..
It wasn't meant to be.

:indiff:.... your welcome. Nice to see you in the spirit of things.
It's a competition, I want to win one of them, hence why I try so hard and am disappointed in myself when I do poorly. It's nothing against you, I'm simply angry at myself for doing so badly this week.

^He can't take the criticism, tsk tsk. 👎
If I couldn't take it, I wouldn't have asked for it.

My guess is that its because its not a 'sticky'. Still shouldn't be too hard to find though :indiff:

We usually get around 47-50 voters here. Not 100% sure why more don't vote. It doesn't matter if you don't enter, you can still cast a vote. As you say CCS7, it could be because the poll's not sticky'd.
