Pretty disappointing selection for the polls

How does a close up of a light cluster fit the theme which was about the track!!

Since that was my shot, donky, I'll be happy to tell you how that fit the theme. If you click on the full-size image (which you should for every entry before you vote), what you see is far less about the car/taillight and is all about the reflections of the buildings and those lit trees in the last chicane of SS5 that clearly identify and highlight the track.

I voted for the image of the 2 cars facing each other. It's completely unique and well shot, but still fits the theme.

I liked that shot too, Mog - and almost voted for it... but yours was just too good.

Very surprised about almost half of the pictures that made the poll. Many of them are just "snap shots" of 1 car.... that's hardly groundbreaking photography.

I had to vote for the Quattro. So vivd! Otherwise I would have vote for the #4 Skyline shot. It just screams speed! Really reminds me of what I saw when I bailed out of that moving car during a high speed chase - except those would have been cop cars....

It's really not possible to choose it like: 5 tunnel shots, 3 fireworks shots, 2 rain shots, 3 details, and so It just comes naturally.

Firstly: Which rules are you refering to? I've read through all the rule pages and cannot find a single mention of this... Happy to admit I'm wrong if you can find it but if it is in the official rules, it sure isn't very obvious... That leads me to my second point:

If someone does break the rules, the mature thing to do would be to contact them privately, make them aware they've done the wrong thing (as mentioned above it may not be very clear what is and what isn't allowed). It may have been a mistake. You may feel free to delete their entry if their response doesn't convince you. What isn't mature is to bag them out straight away on a public forum, especially as you are the host...

Now, I'm sorry I voted for my own image, I wasn't aware it was frowned upon (or against the rules) I presumed it was common practice. I won't do it again... Seeing as I have 1 vote I don't think it's going to ruin the competition... but sorry anyway.

Rules are just in the first post of this thread. Also, in a friendly competiton it kind of makes sense not to vote for yourself or try to sway the poll. Then, since your vote is publicly visible, I don't see any problem with writing about it publicly.

Lastly, I'm not the host, I only acted as a judge in this week's competiton, so all I can do is to be sorry that I sent such ignorant people into the poll. You're lucky that the host of this competiton doesn't care about this, contrary of the 2.0 competiton host.

I have no problem with this... If I broke the rules than that's is absolutely fair enough. (perhaps the rules could also benefit from some rewording to leave less room for interpretation)
It's just a bit unnessary to start calling people imature and ignorant.

Sorry guys, you're right... I had been looking at the rules posted in the other topic where you post the image and the main photo comp. FAQ and had missed the post underneath the image... Rules were fine... my bad.
As mentioned before I'm sorry and won't happen again.

Thanks! Yeah, it was my first PMC win. I've managed to come 1st in the 2.0 twice before this, and in the Photoshop competition once. That's the hat trick I was aiming for! I'm retiring now!
