"I think I'll go for "Bokeh". So basically I want to see the f-number brought down
to the lowest setting for a shallow depth of field and some really interesting images.

Went with the one at Red Bull Hanger because (IMO) felt like it fit the theme the best than most of the others in the poll.

IMO, some of these shots doesn't really have that true "bokeh" definition. But the ones that does fit this theme are really great and pretty hard to choose.

I just had another look and think about my entry and I realize that my entry doesn't really fit the bokeh definition IMO. What do you guys think?
My entry is the 300sl for those that didn't know.

Aw dam didn't make it, I was sure I was in this week

I had about 30 short listed for the poll and yours was the last one I cut. Sorry. The reason I didn't select it was because I felt you could have fitted the whole car into the pic (I didn't like how the far left side was missing). It was a fairly minor detail, but I had to be picky to narrow down the poll

No I think your pic has nice bokeh. I really liked the composition too, and that's why it was chosen for the poll.

There were a tonne of pics with a lot of blur in the posting thread, but only a few really captured my attention and that's why I chose them. I certainly didn't pick a picture just because they had a tonne of blur... the blur had to work well and give a nice impression when I saw it. That's why it was such a hard poll to choose.

I wish people would stop referring to bokeh as a style. It's just a word used to refer to the blurring effect gained by low f stops and/or high zooms.

'It is bokeh' doesn't make sense. 'It has nice bokeh' does.

I always thought of Bokeh as a style or technique as well as an effect. So that's why I was using like that (kind of like how you'd say a photo is "minimalist", I would say a photo is "bokeh")

You know a lot more about photography though - so I'm happy to be corrected

Moglet brings up an interesting point, as simply having a narrow depth of field isn't quite the point (at least, not from my understanding of the theme). GT5 doesn't render bokeh very effectively (it's too fuzzy), but when you have high-contrast areas, it does hint that the team has the foundations in place - the shapes appear to be hexagonal, any ways. I tried to capture that with my shot - so thank you all who've voted so far

Nothing to be sorry about, it's just me on another one of my useless rants about photography again I can see why Bokeh might be becoming a 'style', but it's much like saying "That car is stance!". It just sounds a bit awkward to me...

Thank you all who voted for me, making this my first GT5 competition win (other than the Tournament Qualifier and Round 1)! Ironic considering I'm not usually a huge fan of Standard cars for Photomode work... and this was PMC, so I couldn't even clean the car up
