Further explanation of the theme, provided by Aderrrm:

"Four-wheel drive cars are known for having great traction so this week you'll be
taking a picture of a 4WD car getting it's power down, perhaps exiting a corner or
pulling off from it's grid box at the start of a race.
A little flamboyance might not go a miss either."

CARS: 4WD cars only
LOCATIONS: Any

I completely bombed this week across the comps. I was experimenting though with different shots, filters, editing styles etc... Looks like I should stick with my usual style. Well done to everyone that made it. All the polls are fantastic, SlipZ get my vote in this one. 👍

Good looking poll guys. Both of the Gallardos look incredible. However, the reflecting Celica RC earns my vote.

And I was thinking my entry suited the theme perfectly :scared:

Any comments?

It's a nice shot but when there's 2 wheels off the ground it's not really showing a 4WD car getting it's power down with all it's wheels. Same reason why I didn't pick any shots with cars flying through the air.

Anyway, a little criticism on mine?

Very nice shot but the only thing putting me off was that the shot isn't showing the car powering out of the corner as well as it could be, maybe because of all the snow it's kicking up. A different angle may have been better. Also, I had 3 spots left and had 7, including yours, that I really liked. There were just too many good shots this week - not very fair for a first time judge. :guilty:

Damn right.
People, stop entering these. :P

Thanks for the feedback. 👍

The Audi Quattro is THE 4WD car! Surprised it only has a few votes so far...:boggled:
Both shots are great. Whoever took them...👍

Finally voted, after taking an even longer time than I did picking the top 25.

Would it be possible to also receive some feedback?

Sure it shows the car getting it's power down, but I thought the angle was a tad boring and I didn't really like the use of the warm filter in this particular shot. Nice sense of speed though. 👍

A few of the poll photos don't match the theme at all IMO. How is a car driving in a straight line showing off 4wd? I voted accordingly, since the judges decision is final after all 👍

I realise that, but when the competition was open and I saw (quite a few) shots of cars flying through the air I thought that some people might not know exactly what I'm looking for. So when choosing the top 25 I was a bit more lenient when picking shots that suit the theme. You then also have the 2 Quattros driving in straight lines, but the quattro is such a great 4wd car that it becomes a nice, unique take on the theme. With this in mind I put through some pics which suited the theme less than others, but were overall better pics and had better chances at getting votes. A good example of this is the RS6 powering out of the corner - it's exactly what I wanted and I perhaps could have replaced it with a nicer picture of a 4wd car driving in a straight line, and yet it's received no votes so far.

Like I said, tough times for a first time judge! :P

Again, thanks for all the votes in this week, guys (especially TW ;)), guess I did something right this week!

My vote went to tonilleshusband, as his shot went a different route with the dramatic black/white, and it looks so, so good. Apperosio nearly had it for me too, as well as TVR's, or the Evo above his (I'm not at home so can't check names). Nads is en route to a relatively unheard of first-week-of-comps win, if he holds his lead. Exciting stuff 👍

Thanks SlipZ :)
And good luck to you, its a great photo.

As for my vote i went for the GTR just holding its own to the track like a true Awd.

Thanks SlipZ, although I think yours is pretty stunning and it seems that the masses would agree. Great shot.

Only 1 vote for me. Really thought I had a chance but the others were better. I'm just glad that the vote came from TVR&Ferrari_Fan. Thanks.

Thanks SlipZ :)

Thank you, Nads, and congrats on winning! Seems the influx of votes from the front-page article (and other late-voters) all enjoyed your shot, as it took a pretty commanding lead by the end there 👍

Thanks TH - great minds, and all that, with the Delta 👍

A nice late-week move by TVR too, as he ended up tied for second with me!
