Further explanation of the theme, in the words of jamiebird:

"Photographs that capture tight fast racing between Lotus or TVR cars.

CARS: Lotus or TVR cars. Special allowance for the inclusion of Caterham 7s in the Lotus side.
LOCATIONS: Any tarmac track
PHOTOTRAVEL: No
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: There must be more than one car in the photograph, belonging to the side you've chosen.
(i.e. all cars must be from Lotus only or TVR only).

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow the rules may result in disqualification.

• Be reminded that only the 40 best entries get into Classic poll style, 20 each side in H2H;
• Do not vote on your entry;
• Do not try to sway the poll;
• Please, view each image in it's full size, before voting;
• Poll will be up for 4 days;
• In the event of a tie, a 1 day poll will be created;
• During H2H weeks, don’t forget to vote on both polls;
• Winners have 48h to submit they’re theme to the competition host (via P.M.);

I had a hard time deciding on this side. Too many good shots! That top down of the 2 Caterham's looks like a engraved print with all the texture. I love that B/W stuff too, so it got mine. The miniature pic was real close. (and a couple more...)

Cheers! I'm sorry yours was not selected. I quite liked the close-up head to head feel.

I realised afterwards that mine was similar to yours, but it honestly was just one in a huge bunch! I think it was one of my first experiments with the GT5 filters.

Hey there fellow Kiwi. Mine is the yellow Elise smokin' (literally) the opposition.
Actually I was coming second, but then although taking the corners sideways is the most fun, it's not the fastest way through the corners.

It'll be funny if I make the poll but get no votes lol.

these photomode competitions are great!
challenging, exciting, cool...
some of you should think about a career as a photographer or artist or so...
I'll definitely save many of the pics (not just the poll) on my pc... or take one to have it as a poster on the wall!

to make it to the poll is cool itself...and maybe one day I'll be on the podium or so..
this thrills me much more than beating the dump AI in the a-spec....
