This week's theme in detail, brought to you by Crooooooow:

"To celebrate BMW for releasing their GT Vision project in GT6, the PMC this week will not feature the new vehicle. The CCCL will most definitely include it in a few days. The mission is to search through the inventory for any vehicle that you find GT Vision worthy, but obviously is not part of the project. Yes, cars with wild and crazy designs that could have been involved in the project."

CARS: Cars with a crazy style that could have been a GT Vision project.
LOCATIONS: Any
PHOTOTRAVEL: Yes
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: Funky rides only.

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow the rules may result in disqualification. If you have questions, start a convo with me.
This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
it makes poll creation much easier!
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • Do not ask other users to choose your entry.
  • Absolutely no hybrid, hacked cars, or cars obtained through such means.
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text. On H2H weeks, which side, as well.
Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following:
    FINAL ENTRY
  • You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
  • Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 30. Every fourth
week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", leading to two 15-picture,
4-day polls. The winners from each faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
  • The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
Failure to follow these rules will result in ignored entries and/or disqualification!

Man you read my mind on this theme, it literally wonder through my head (pretty much in one ear out the other) earlier today. Should be interesting!

So how many Citreon GT and Toyota FT1's will we get?

Too predictable :P

I will make a limit of two entries per car. If there are three FT1s, for example, the third person will have to change their entry.

This car, that's new in GT6, is extremely intriguing for a vehicle from 1970. Was it a racer or just a concept car...?

In many ways it was a sort of VisionGT exercise & concept car for 1970. Only one was ever made although for a while 3 were rumoured to exist as it was repainted & had its exterior changed subtly over a few years. It was supposed to bring Mazda and in particular the racing capability of the rotary engine coupled with a lightweight body to the attention of the automotive world. Some of the panels were even made of a space-age lightweight new material called 'Plastic'. It was also designed with lots of nifty safety rethinks in mind like those strange sequential looking brake-lights at the back: at night the green ones would be on whilst accelerating, orange whilst at a steady speed, and then red when braking. Apparently it got locked away in a storage warehouse in the mid-70s until it was given a refurbishment in the late naughties. Here it is making a lot of noise and looking totally stunning in a Hiroshima car park (along with a Cosmo Sport).

@VictrolaTime The fact about the taillights identifying more than just braking, but acceleration and steady speeds is by far outstandingly futuristic for its time period. With a guess out of the blue, before you informed me, I would have guessed at least ten or fifteen units were produce. But one or possibly four, wow! Polyphony Digital should bring in many more rare concepts that were ground breaking and extremely rare to find or drive, to give millions an opportunity to at least drive them virtually.

I know right. And it really is the one and only ever made too. The reason it was discovered that all the different coloured, slightly changed cars were the same was because when it was brought out of storage the paint was flaking and damaged, with a layers of green, yellow and silver revealing each of the different colours were just painted over each other. A+ for design, F for maintenance, but at least it was revived 40 years later.

@CCShaft7 Your link is broken.

I was searcihng through the library of cars and found so many, but knocked the total down to two. The Nissan GT-R LM Road Car and the Audi Union '37... strange enough.
The Union, for its time especially, has a unique sense of curves to it. The entire car really does not include any sides to it, it is mainly one whole body featuring only curves and nothing but curves.
The GT-R LM Road Car... the amazing view of this beast leaves me speechless with only mumbled sentences. If you compare a normal R33 to this one, the bodykit is massive and adds hugeass muscles to its exterior. Damn, those muscles are great! Though, it isn't too unique for its time, but screw the "For its time" scenario. I'd be one lucky buck with golden horns, I'd be one lucky poor man winning the lottery, I'd be one lucky Will Arnett who can get a sitcom that isn't bad and has more than 1 season, if Polyphony Digital could take the time to at least semi-premiumize this Godzilla model.

We have 13 entries in so far with one more day to go, I shall give.

I almost went for the Audi Union '37 myself but my love of the RX500 beckoned. :)
