StarLight Garage suggests automobile gems to be included in the Gran Turismo Series.
In StarLight Garage we already have really strange and weird vehicles so let's include this awesome worlds fastest Golf Kart called the Bandit and equipped with electric motors from Plum Quick Motors. They used a Club Car Electric from 1993.
It's by the way the second time Plum Quick Motors breaks the record with a Golf Kart.
This project golf cart sounds like something Tim Allen would have creating while screaming “Moar power!” Most people have the sense to realize that golf carts are slow for a reason. Anyone who has driven one is aware that they don’t corner very well even at low speeds and offer essentially no protection if they were to roll a few times. That’s why modifying one so that it can reach speeds over 100 mph sounds like a horrible, irresponsible and a completely awesome idea!
Playing a round of golf can take a good few hours, not least because of the time taken to walk between shots. Using a golf cart can speed things up, of course, especially if it goes 118 mph (190 km/h). That's the speed Plum Quick Motors says one of its high speed golf carts has hit to claim a new world record.
The existing record for the world's fastest golf cart was already held by Plum Quick Motors (and will be until the claimed new record is verified). That was set at the Darlington Dragway in South Carolina, US, on October 4 last year, with driver Robby Steen hitting 103.65 mph (166.81 km/h).
According to Plum Quick Motors, about 90 percent of the golf cart is completely stock. That’s pretty crazy, considering that such a vehicle is meant to lazily tool around putting greens and gentle rolling hills, not tear down a drag strip at over 100 mph. Just how the builders figured nothing would fail at such a high speed is anyone’s guess, and it’s a good thing nothing did go wrong during the record attempt.
The new record run took place on October 31st, 2014, again at the Darlington Dragway. According to Steen, the record attempt was made in a Club Car golf cart modified with Plum Quick's "Black Ops" performance motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. Following a week of testing with his brother and father, the cart is said to have hit 118.76 mph (191.13 km/h) over a quarter-mile distance.
Just for comparison, comparable quarter-mile times. The 2015 Stingray Convertible does the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds at 118 mph. Dodge Challenger Hellcat does it in 11.2 seconds at 125 mph.
The video below shows the potentially record-breaking run.
