Mine started registering as being in the wrong gear in the game - 2nd instead of 4th, 4th instead of 2nd. 1st instead of 3rd, 3rd instead of 5th, etc.
You can watch videos on youtube of people taking apart the shifter to find the magnet that had moved out of place, causing the issue. I bought my setup last year, and the magnet had been glued in place when it was built. However, I did find a bunch of really small flakes of metal or magnet in the area surrounding the magnet. I cleaned those out and haven't had a problem with an incorrect gear since. I hope that helps you or anyone else having a similar problem
