Cockpit Blueprints/Measurements

I am planning on building my own cockpit once my DFP arrives.

In order to find the most realistic racing driving position i was wondering if anyone here could help me out with the measurements for a good driving position - as i cannot do this on my own car since its hardly a low-slung track racer.

I'm also still undecided to whether or not to buy a bucket seat or a car seat from a breakers yard - mayby the bucket seat, since it'll enable me to sit lower.

Has anyone got any blueprints of thier own that i could see for measurements?

Thanks in advance.

It is not much but maybe this will help

Buy a nice seat from an old car. Buckets are designed to stop you falling out not for comfort :) . I feel very comfy in my old Sierra seat but if I had time / money etc I would be looking at a seat from a performance car. Plenty to be had cheap if you kepp your eye out.

Best Plans I have seen so far:

I've built a Firetooth.net setup, see http://orbit.myphotoalbum.com

Only think I'd suggest is making the back 'taller' (see how mine's chocked up on some wood blocks) for comfort and road-car realism (leg position).

I have no carpentry experience and it was a snap to make. Used my Dad's jigsaw.

Actually, I replaced the proposed MDF cross-pieces with 2x4 pine. It takes a whole lot of effort to make it move while driving regularly (only non-game playing people try to shake it around!).

Fire any more Qs at me if you've got them!

Edit - just realised you wanted it low-slung. The original height for the rear of the frame would be fine, then just have a seat without raising it like I have.
