This is an awesome project!

One thing that stands out is the amount or work that was put into the pedal adjuster just to mount the pedals "normaly" as opposed to inverting them. Maybe he just got burned out doing the wheel mount/adjuster portion of the project.

But he did say he started the project without plans so I guess thats what happens, things get overlooked.

Many actually prefer the pedals to be "normally", not inverted. Can't wait to see this finished at some point.

I find that hard to believe, with all due respect. It feels really un-natural to be pushing on the gas pedal with the middle of my foot. Theres less leverage this way, and the gas and brake are too close for people with large feet. I imagine most people just dont consider it or know its possible, or even know how it feels to have inverted pedals.

Sorry for the rant.

Back on topic I wonder what the base is going to turn out like. As it stands now the bottom looks like a boat or sled. So I'm guessing that it will have some legs or wheels proping it up a bit so the bottom can be admired.

I love watching projects like this, so thanks for the link Skandgt.

It's true I assure you. But it would have been be great if he'd included a possibility for mounting the pedals inverted. Always good to have possibilities..

Why would you be pushing on the gas pedal with the middle of your foot?

I fail to see how that has anything to do with how they are mounted.

I can't say that I prefer normal, but I don't prefer inverted either. Either way is perfectly fine for me.

:tup:This rig looks a bit like how I would modify my Playseat (create new rig based on Playseat design-minus centre wheel support) and eliminate the centre bar by building a 'cage', or 'fuselage' around the pedals and up-creating an actual cockpit.

But I do not have a CNC machine

I stumbled upon this project and was amazed to the level of detail and effort was put into this jaw dropping cockpit. I don't think its been posted here before, if it has, sorry...
Here is the link...

Do you have another link directly to the cockpit photos? This one just goes to some milling photos the guy is working on but no cockpit. :dopey:

What page is that on and do they have more pics of different views?

Yeah tought he would built a death star!

too much work for the wheel mount and the rest is not up to the wheelmount..
But if he would do all in that detail he would be ready for Gt8

But definetly a nice rig

Yeah you should see this image on page 35.

I agree with one of the posters on that forum. It looks like a fan boat. I also notice that he is using a pallet to move it around. Which really does hint the fact that it's pretty heavy.

These are my thoughts on this cockpit:

It will definitely be nice.
It will cost him a fortune to build.
The guy is a metal engineer.
It will be damn heavy.
It will be the nicest cockpit of all the ones we have build.

However I would have definitely inverted the pedals. I had a cockpit and I had mounted the pedals normally. Now I'm building another one and I have inverted them. I've tried them and they feel fantastic inverted as opposed to normally mounted.

Surly a metal engineer. Nobody calls a CNC machine his own (not normal people at least)!

But why this bottom cover? That wil be the dust collector 2000!

Just hope he doesn't live on the 7th floor!

But still amazing!
