This brings back loads of memories for me. I think, I should fire up my PS2 and play CMRally:2005.
I even purchased the Android version, its quite easy to get everything and only lock/unlock what you want.
On Android, to edit what is locked and unlocked go to "My Files",then "Android" then find a folder called "com.codemasters.cmrally", then open a folder called "files", then look for a .csv file with the name "CurrentContents.csv" (open in a code editor or something that can read Excel files on your device.)
Code:
Category,Content,Status
Championship,Championship-1,FALSE
Championship,Championship-2,FALSE
Championship,Championship-3,FALSE
Championship,Championship-4,FALSE
Championship,Championship-5,FALSE
Championship,Championship-6,FALSE
Championship,Championship-7,FALSE
Championship,Championship-8,FALSE
Rally,Australia1,TRUE
Rally,Australia2,TRUE
Rally,Greece1,TRUE
Rally,Greece2,TRUE
Rally,Corsica1,TRUE
Rally,Corsica2,TRUE
Car,Focus,TRUE
Car,Impreza,FALSE
Car,Lancer,TRUE
Car,Stratos,FALSE
You can just change the values from "True" to "False" or vice versa, like in the code above, this does work and only takes about 2 mins to do. This may also work on the Steam version too.

It's exactly the same as the phone version. As soon as you look at the main menu, you can tell it's made for a phone.

Codemasters is offering refunds on Colin McRae Rally on Steam.

Colin McRae Rally drew criticism after it launched last week when some players said it was not the game they had expected based on the product description.

Some said they had expected a high definition remake of the 1998 original. What they got was a port of the mobile phone version released last year with, in Codemasters' words, touched up audio and graphics.

Following a raft of negative reviews, Codemasters has offered customers a refund and updated the Colin McRae Rally product page.

"At Codemasters, we care about our customers and pride ourselves on listening to our community," read a statement posted to the Steam forum by community manager Lee Williams.

"We understand that some people who bought Colin McRae Rally on Steam are upset and feel that it isn't the game they thought it would be. We have now updated the product description for clarification.

"Furthermore, as an act of good faith, we have worked with Valve to enable anyone that bought the game to claim a refund. The ability to refund will be available until the 19th August.

"To process a refund, please go to your account transactions page and you will see a 'Refund' button for Colin McRae Rally. We hope this goes some way to restoring any lost faith and thank you as always, for your continued support."

The move seems to have gone down well. Steam user "James_UK" wrote: "Thanks for doing this. I didn't buy the game myself but do appreciate it when a developer can be honest and accept that they're wrong for what they've done which is a rare thing these days.

"Maybe one can really redeem themselves by bringing CMRs 1 through to 2005 onto Steam but updated to work better for modern computers/controllers ***hint hint***"

Dear oh dear Codies. When Anima8r on here said it's back i dont think anyone expected a mobile phone game to be back.

Games like this and especially 2.0 deserve HD remakes. Modern graphics skinned over the same physics engine and released on Live and PSN is all you'd need.

If this game gets ported and sold on the Playstation Store, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Colin McRae Rally was a game I played all the time when I was younger. It's still on of my favorites today, but I don't really play it much anymore.

If you didn't know already you can just pop the PS1 disc into your PS3.

Hey folks!

I was reminiscing the other day and took out this bad boy and started re-living some childhood memories!

I was crap at this when I was younger (still am) but I loved it!
I still have my PS1 copy and I come back to it every other year. It's the best rally game I have ever played,
and sometimes I can randomly get Colin's voice in my head.. "Use the brakes!".. "that was good".. "put your foot down".

I believe I got it around '99 and I used to create drivers such as Mika Hakkinen, Valentino Rossi and Rickard Rydell.

It doesn't work when the Playstation disc in question is spotty and doesn't always load properly. It's also the same reason that I don't play Frogger much- the disc doesn't always properly load. Otherwise, I would be doing just that until it got ported.

Ah this game brings back so many memories... This was back in the day when devs weren't worried about review scores, and executive meddling to make games sell more. They were just, with a rally legend at the helm, focused on providing the purest experience for rally enthusiasts. It's the reason why I got interested in rallying. The cheat codes were cool too.

I agree, I miss the way games used to be! There was a hell of a lot more enjoyment in them!

Anyway, here is a new video!

Great stuff, I love the original, the rally school in the Fabia brings back so many memories!

Fixed that one for you. ;) There weren't any Fabias in the 1990's, methinks.

Speaking of this game, I also have good memories of it. Back when I first played, I knew jack about rally, and it showed. Now, I know a bit more and the game got that extra bit of fun. It's as tricky and as harsh as TOCA 2, but I don't mind that much. Also, top job with the videos @evanzo7, you seem to be having a great time repeating the stages and playing the game.

Back then I knew nothing about cars but my favourites were the 2002 Impreza WRC in CMR3 and the Skyline GT-R R34 in GT3. Loved them above anthing else. I also loved the Nissan Primera in ToCa Touring Cars
