GTPlanet, because of sickness and needing rest, I was unable to give out Monday or Sunday scores. Thanks for bearing with me.
LAST WEEK...
* Three unbeatens... and all three fell. It felt about as bad as last year or so in college football in which all three Florida powers (Florida, Florida State, and Miami) all fell in their games. Duke, Florida, and Pittsburgh all went down to Georgetown, Tennessee, and St. John's respectively. All teams will look to rebound after these devastating losses. * The University of Houston played at Alabama-Birmingham this past Saturday. Controversy brewed as Tom Penders (Houston; Men's hoops coach) fainted on the sidelines after getting a Technical Foul. It looked so scary, but he was okay. The curly-haired 60-year old returned to the sidelines as Houston sadly lost by three. * How about those Kentucky kittens? The Wildcats were able to turn the South Carolina Gamecocks into fresh poultry. It was close too, winning by a lay up. * Wisconsin is one of the best basketball schools, not to mention their solid football team. So if they're so good, losing to North Dakota State had to be a true disappointment. Wisconsin should have OWN3D ND State, but credit the Bison for taming the Badgers. * Special congratulations to Pat Summit, the women's coach of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. She got win #900 last week, and will have a date with #2 Duke later this week.
Let's begin the week with a few scores from around the nation.
