GTPlanet, I have no Sunday Sampler because no known action took place on Sunday and Monday. Action resumed for Tuesday, so let's get to work, players!

TUESDAY'S GAMES

MEN'S DIVISION
How do you come away from the Christmas break? With a big matchup, of course! College football is in a doubleheader deal, but who says they are the only college sports on TV? So let's start with the biggest matchup of the night.

"My Chance to Shine" #8 Gonzaga at #4 Memphis
Forget a Top 10 ACC vs. Mid-Continent match... we got Conference USA vs. West Coast Conference. Gonzaga is possibly one of two of Washington's best talents. The Bulldogs left The Kennel to bite through some kitties. Those kitties were special because it was the Tigers of Memphis. If you've seen this year's Motor City Bowl, you know what to expect from Memphis. They are one of the most talented Conference USA units in Men's Basketball. The two had a memorable fight to the end, but Memphis pulled away down the stretch to win. Don't feel bad, Gonzaga... this is a quality loss, meaning that you fought to the end, but just lost to a better team. These things will happen. (83-72; MEMPHIS)

* Towson at Syracuse
For Towson, this is a chance to make a statement and give their opponents some disappointment. For Syracuse, it's a possible walk in the park until Big East in-conference play takes form. The Towson Tigers are the pride of Baltimore, about as much as the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. Syracuse represents the sorriest football team in the state of New York, but the best Orange to dribble the rock. Speaking of rocks, the 'Cuse rocked the Carrier Dome to beat the Tigers. So, one Tigers team wins, the other loses. (-; SYRACUSE)

* Massachusetts at St. Peter's
Some girls like wearing shirts that say stuff like "Everybody Loves a Cowgirl," or even "Everybody Loves an Italian Girl." Well, Massachusetts ladies would like saying "Everybody Loves a Winner on the Road." That couldn't be more true for the Minutemen as they left Massachusetts for New Jersey. Meet St. Peter's College. The St. Peter's Peacocks are looking to take down a team who used to be #1 in the nation in Massachusetts' history. (66-49; Massachusetts)

* Norfolk State at Nevada
Remember Nevada? They beat Kansas earlier this year. Their football team won in Overtime against Central Florida. Now, the boys in blue look to give out more Wolfpack punishment. Can Nevada do it against Norfolk State? Well, Norfolk State isn't as sorry of a team as say, Morehead State or North Carolina A&T. The Spartans made the long trip out west and came home beaten. (56-46; NEVADA)

* Missouri-Kansas City at Valparaiso
The Kangaroos of UMKC got her done against the Valparaiso Crusaders in this Mid-Continent match. (75-62; Missouri-Kansas City)

* College of Charleston at North Carolina-Wilmington
The Seahawks of North Carolina-Wilmington welcomed the College of Charleston. You football types may know of the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, but only in basketball will you see the Charleston Cougars go at it against America's other fine Division 1 programs. NC-Wilmington has done very well this season, but they take a big loss to the College of Charleston. (81-44; College of Charleston)

* Northeastern at Wright State
Wright State's Raiders played in their home state of Ohio. They welcomed the Northeastern Huskies. Wright State has a losing record, but it's nice to win to make that fight back up to 0.500. And the Raiders did just that. (72-65; WRIGHT STATE)

* Boston College at Duquesne
The Boston College Eagles flew into Duquesne and knocked off the Dukes. Winning on the road. Something you'll have to do no matter what sport you play if you want to be champ. (81-69; Boston College)

"Liberty City Stories" Columbia at St. John's
St. John's is on the receiving end of some disappointment in recent times. Not too many stars shone bright. Not too many quality wins. The crew was never like, the North Carolina of New England, but St. John's needs some help so they don't fade out like Providence or anybody. The St. John's Red Storm is staying in their home in Jamaica, NY... basically within the Queens burough of New York City. They meet antoher of New York City's teams, Columbia. The Ivy Leaguers are looking to uphold the spirit of the Ivy Leauge as the Lions look to keep St. John's down. St. John's may have struggled in the season and in the past season, but the Red Storm rained buckets all over Columbia. St. John's defends the pride of New York City in a not even close deal. (63-39; ST. JOHN'S)

* Jackson State at Alabama
Crimson Tide in this house! You bet. Alabama's ready to Roll Tide Roll... except Jackson State wanted to ruin things. The Tigers were looking to give Alabama a little indigestion problem. The only ones with indigestion problems after this game was Jackson State, as they had sour stomachs losing big on the road. (101-66; ALABAMA)

Holy Cross at George Mason
Let's meet the Patriot League and one of their stars. The Holy Cross Crusaders swing their swords high and keep their shields close to fend off opposition. This isn't George Washington, but George Mason. The Patriots of George Mason call the state of Virginia (I believe) home. Is it possible for the Patriots to knock off a Patriot League team? Just talk to George Mason because they'll tell you "you bet we can! And we did! Any other questions?" (71-38; GEORGE MASON)

* Richmond at Tulane
Tulane has plenty of courage. They weren't afraid of anything, even considering that the Green Wave would face Richmond's Spiders. Yeah, Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the waterspout, but the Green Wave washed away these Spiders. Who needs kiddie songs here? This was simply Spiders losing to those New Orleans boys. (61-44; TULANE)

* Rhode Island at Houston
NOTE: Now, when I got the new computer, a score I forgot to presnt was that Houston beat North Texas on the road 92-84. Now, the Cougars look to rebuild lost ground. They must do it against the Rhode Island Rams to stay fresh. No sweat for the Coogs as they blow out the Rams. And yes, those Rams have Hemis... but they were no match to the high-horsepowered Cougars. (61-47; HOUSTON)

* California State-Fullerton at Texas-San Antonio
The CS-Fullerton Titans were Wile E. Coyote, and they couldn't catch those Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners. That's all folks! (88-76; TEXAS-SAN ANTONIO)

* San Diego State at Providence
Maybe I take back my slight bash of Providence. The Friars fried the San Diego State Aztecs. (80-65; PROVIDENCE)

WOMEN'S DIVSION
Here's the only known game.

* Southern Utah at Chicago State
The Mid-Continent's Southern Utah Lady Thunderbirds weren't lightning quick in trying to beat the Chicago State Cougars. (65-53; CHICAGO STATE)

WEDNESDAY'S GAMES

MEN'S DIVISION
I didn't pre-type many introductions, so how about I give it to you nice and easy, eh? Men's hoops coming right up!

* Oklahoma State at Alabama-Birmingham
Oklahoma State of the Big XII went into Alabama-Birmingham of Conference USA. Oklahoma State is a great basketball team who plays home games at their beautiful arena. Last season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys didn't advance past the regional semifinals. They hope to go further into the NCAA this season. They faced a nice challenge- Alabama-Birmingham. UAB's Blazers are one of the best in most Conference USA sports and play to win every second, every game. But they will have their hands full with Oklahoma State. This is a blowout and a VERY disappointing loss for the Big XII and Oklahoma State. (90-71; ALABAMA-BIRMINGHAM)

* Oral Roberts at Oklahoma
Since Oklahoma State couldn't get it done, let's see if the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles embarass Oklahoma. Can Oklahoma's two Big XII powers lose in the same night? No way! Oklahoma wins a much closer game against their Mid-Continent counterpart. (81-73; OKLAHOMA)

* Coppin State at Michigan
Michigan played a hell of a game, despite losing to UCLA earlier this year. They get Coppin State. The Wolverines may have lost the Alamo Bowl, but their Men's basketball team gets a blowout win over the Coppin State Eagles. (81-53; MICHIGAN)

* Chicago State at St. Louis
Love the city of St. Louis? You're proud to know the Bilikens downed Chicago State's Cougars. The close fight went in favor of the Missouri boys. (58-52; SAINT LOUIS)

* Oakland at Toledo
The Oakland Golden Grizzlies played a great, close game... but Toledo's Rockets proved to be the better team. After all, they have the three point spread to prove it. (64-61; TOLEDO)

* Clemson at Georgia
How about Georgia? They are improving very well in basketball. The Bulldogs are probably best known for their football powerhouse, but they can play hoops. Too bad the Clemson Tigers of the ACC fell short in this one. (72-69; GEORGIA)

* Stony Brook at Connecticut
Connecticut is looking to remain undefeated. The team with their melodic fight song is looking to play "We Are the Champions" at least for this game. Get those vocal chords ready because the Huskies blown out the Stony Brook Seawolves. Sing this song again if you get the 2005-2006 National Championship, okay? (85-52; CONNECTICUT)

"A New Deal (of problems)" Fairleigh Dickinson at Louisville
FDR may have been the man to help slay The Great Depression in America, but FDU hopes to be the men to knock off #10 Louisville. The FDU boys know about slaying because that's what brave Knights do to evil opposition. You have to slay their hearts to kill off evil forces. I'm sure the Knights were banned from using their swords, but they headed into the proverbial Lion's Den. A lion den full of Louisville Cardinals at Freedom Hall, that is. Louisville cleans house. Nuff said. Their only blemish was at Kentucky, but they are still unbeaten at home. (89-69; LOUISVILLE)

* North Carolina-Asheville at North Carolina
The North Carolina Tar Heels dumped all over their in-state counterparts from Asheville. The North Carolina-Asheville Bulldogs didn't have enough bite to match their bark. (89-47; NORTH CAROLINA)

* St. Gregory at Lamar
The Lamar Cardinals did everything they had to and more to smash their Division 2 or 3 counterparts. (112-60; LAMAR)

* Dartmouth at New Mexico
Dismal Dartmouth College used to be winless back in 1990 or so. Well, the Big Green made it a nice game, just too bad the New Mexico Lobos were too much. The Big Green fall to 1-7. Good luck making the NCAA. (66-60; NEW MEXICO)

* Lewis at Marquette
I don't know Lewis, but I do know Golden Eagles when I see them. Marquette's Golden Eagles remain strong in downing Lewis. (88-40; MARQUETTE)

* Harvard at SMU
SOUTHERN METHODIST WON A GAME? See a doctor immediately. Tell the doc that the Mustangs whipped the Harvard Crimson. Normally, they stink in football and are okay in hoops. But this was... bad. (76-55; SOUTHERN METHODIST)

... as a note, none of the Top 25 got upset tonight. I was looking for one, but no luck.

* St. John's vs. Massachusetts (Panasonic Holiday Classic; Madison Square Garden; New York City, NY)
This is a big win for St. John's. The Red Storm are now 7-4, and they are done for 2005. They'll meet another non-football team, the Pirates of Seton Hall, January 4th. But the Minutemen lost by a small margin. (51-49; St. John's)

* Georgia Tech vs. Air Force (Colorado Springs World Arena; Colorado Springs, CO)
GT is is falling down a chasm losing to the Air Force Falcons. That's not going to make the Yellow Jackets prevail in the postseason, much less the regular season.

"...And the Home of the Braves" Northern Iowa at Bradley
The Northern Iowa Panthers take an ugly loss in Overtime to the braver-than-brave Bradley Braves. (68-60, OT; BRADLEY)

* Saint Joseph's at St. Mary's
The Hawks of Saint Joseph's University travelled far west to California from Philadelphia, PA. The St. Mary's College Gaels welcomed the Philly boys. They also were welcomed to a big win. (70-66; Saint Joseph's)

WOMEN'S DIVISION
Ladies hoops next... we begin with an upset!

* #14 Stanford at #24 Boston College
Holy crap! The Boston College Lady Eagles gave Chestnut Hill, MA more reason to cheer as they knocked off the Stanford Lady Cardinal. So the men win the MPC Computers Bowl in football, and the ladies knocked off a tough Stanford bunch. (77-69; BOSTON COLLEGE)

* Louisville at Kentucky ---RIVALRY GAME---
Kentucky upset #4 Louisville in the Men's game. Now, let's see how the ladies do. Both are unranked, so this is no upset in the works. The Louisville Lady Cardinals did, however, knock off the Lady Wildcats of Kentucky. Louisville and Kentucky just DO NOT like each other, even on the ladies' side. (64-55; Louisville)

* #1 Tennessee at #24 Temple
Temple's ranked, but so is Tennessee. The Tennessee Lady Volunteers made the most of their oppurtunities and downed the Temple Lady Bowls. Not even close. Cover your eyes. It was ugly. (75-50; Tennessee)

* North Florida at South Florida
The North Florida Lady Ospreys of Jacksonville, FL met the ladies down south in Tampa... the South Florida Lady Bulls. Those Lady Bulls saw red and kicked the crap out of North Florida. (87-49; SOUTH FLORIDA)

* Valparaiso vs. #12 Notre Dame
The Notre Dame Fighting Lady Irish nearly got upset as they held against the Valparaiso Lady Crusaders. (58-50; NOTRE DAME)

I'll release a thread soon about St. John's University. Just want to know some stuff and start a conversation. Take a look when I get the thread ready.

* Oakland at Toledo
The Oakland Golden Grizzlies played a great, close game... but Toledo's Rockets proved to be the better team. After all, they have the three point spread to prove it. (64-61; TOLEDO)

My team isn't fairing to well this year :(.

THURSDAY'S GAMES
The Emerald and Holiday Bowls dominate college football, but let's stay with the hardwood as men and women square off in their respective divisions.

MEN'S DIVISION
Let the boys be boys, and let's have some fun while we're at it! Here are select games from around the nation.

* Arizona State at #9 Washington
Did you know that Washington is unbeaten? Ten wins, no losses. That's all on the line for this night as two Pac-10 teams. One is very good, while the other isn't exactly a Pac-10 power. Let's start with the underdogs. Arizona State seen their football team win the Insight Bowl against Rutgers. Now, the Men's Sun Devils basketball team hopes to pin down their Pac-10 counterparts from Seattle. That Seattle team is the unbeaten Washington Huskies. They've won 10 games and really want to stay on course to play in the NCAA tournament. They may make it to the Final Four in America's fastest city- Indianapolis, IN. Before the Huskies can think Indianapolis, they have to think 11-0 in Seattle, and their 30+ home game winning streak. Last season, Wisconsin had a wonderful home winning streak until they stumbled in one game. Will Washington endure the same fate? No way! Washington rolls. Now if only their football team can get better before getting much worse... (91-67; WASHINGTON)

* Rider vs. Long Island (College of Charleston Classic; Charleston, SC)
We have two New York state universities, both you may have not heard of if you follow football. This is the matter of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference's Rider University and the Northeast Conference's Long Island University. The Rider Broncs looked to bonk their opponents from southeastern New York (state). Long Island was ready as the Blackbirds were ready to say "Lights Out!" to the Broncs. Broncs 'n 'Birds. So let's do it. In the end, Rider rode into the sunset with a nice win. (69-53; Rider)

* New Orleans at Kansas
GTPlanet, bring some Mardi Gras beads, zydeco music, and a steamy pot of gumbo, because we're talking about New Orleans! It was said that New Orleans (the University of New Orleanse, that is) wasn't seriously affected. All or most Louisiana schools are carrying lots of pride in their home and road games, and UNO is no different. The New Orleans Privateers have a chance at knocking off a great Big XII basketball bunch in Lawrence, KS. The Jayhawks really have to make a statement, and a win against New Orleans will silence critics who think the 2005-2006 Jayhawks are done. Silence those "they are done" comments, because they sent New Orleans packing! (73-56; KANSAS)

* Louisiana-Lafayette at Nevada
The Sun Belt meets the WAC. Time for the WAC unit to whack antoher one. The Sun Belt welcomes the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns play with rage, spirit, and the hope that they'll win against the odds. They'll need to have all these and more as they go to Nevada. Not Las Vegas, but the world's biggest little city- Reno, Nevada. I don't know when Nevada/UNLV will have their rivalry match, but the Wolfpack are sick and tired of not getting any respect from those who follow the ACC or Big East. Nevada's just racking up points and losing only a few games. They can't lose this one, because this one would be a heartbreaker. (-; )

* Texas Tech at New Mexico State
The Red Raider nation of Texas Tech is hellishly struggling. Except tonight. New Mexico State's Aggies lose by three twos or two long bombs, whichever matters to you. (69-63; Texas Tech)

* American at Vermont
American University is home to the Eagles. Eagles represent characters of great moral and ethical value. They represent leadership, power, and justice. American took all of these qualities and rather than serve their nation, they will serve their university tonight. Must be pretty fun in Vermont, right? Probably a good idea to go skiing, snowboarding, or make snowmen. Vermont has a much deeper pride than that- they play basketball to melt the snow. Surely Catamount basketball is the best way to beat the ice. Speaking of ice, American was walking on thin ice, until they eventually fell into the drink and froze as Vermont won. (-; VERMONT)

* Loyola at Clevland State
The Loyola UC Ramblers went into Viking land and knocked off the Clevland State Vikings. (77-60; Loyola)

* Lipscomb at Tennessee
Lipscomb is out of Nashville, and the Bison(?) lost to Knoxville's Tennessee Volunteers. (69-58; TENNESSEE)

* Notre Dame of Ohio at Bowling Green
Okay, I've heard of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. I've also heard about Notre Dame de Namur in California... but Notre Dame of Ohio? If all you know about in this match is Bowling Green, that's all that matters becaues the Falcons win big. (81-50; BOWLING GREEN)

* Southern at Xavier
Cincinatti's other proud basketball unit, Xavier defeated the Southern Jaguars. That's another good win for the Atlantic 10's Musketeers. (73-56; XAVIER)

* Winthrop at Auburn
You don't hear much about Auburn in basketball. The Auburn Tigers played a close game against the Winthrop Eagles. And at the wire, Auburn got it done. (64-62; AUBURN)

* Boston University vs. California-Riverside (Cable Car Classic; Leavey Center; Santa Clara, CA)
The Boston University Terriers defeated the California-Riverside Highlanders. That makes the highlanders 0-10 this season so far. (80-69; Boston University)

* North Dakota State at Montana State
This game was decided by only one point! North Dakota State made it happen over the Montana State Fighting Bobcats of the Big Sky. Nice win for the (ND State nickname)s. (76-75; North Dakota State)

* Arizona at Washington State
The Cougars of Washington State lose another one. This time, the Arizona Wildcats win big on the road. (70-52; Arizona)

* California at Southern California (Staples Center; Los Angeles, CA)
USC would kill California in football with Leinart and Bush. What happens when your university's Men's Basketball team doesn't have that sort of star power in basketball, or at least translated power? You get the USC Trojans taking a big loss to the California Golden Bears. (62-58; California)

* Stanford at UCLA
Can you believe the Bruins embarassed the Stanford Cardinal? (71-54; CALIFORNIA-LOS ANGELES)

* Idaho State vs. Binghampton (Utah State Gossner Foods Classic; Dee Glen Smith Spectrum; Logan, UT)
The Binghampton Wildcats got it done real major against the Idaho State Bengals. (59-46; Binghampton)

* Liberty at McNeese State
The McNeese State Cowboys get this one in the books against the Liberty Flames. I believe their next game is on New Year's Eve against the hot Houston Cougars. (85-72; McNEESE STATE)

WOMEN'S DIVISION

RAPID FIRE
* North Carolina at Old Dominion (88-80, OT; North Carolina)
* Kansas State at North Carolina-Wilmington (75-49; Kansas State)

I don't have too many scores, so I suggest you look here for scores:
http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaw/scoreboard?d=2005-12-29&c=all&refresh=0

FRIDAY'S GAMES
This is the final weekday of 2005, and Saturday's going to be full of end-of-year action. So let's see how the men did business, starting with an upset.

MEN'S GAMES
* #12 George Washington at #18 North Carolina State
The George Washington Colonials were unbeaten and climbing up the rankings. North Carolina State took them down much like how the Wolfpack ended the Houston Cougars' 26 game winning streak back in 1982-1983. (79-58; NORTH CAROLINA STATE)

* Quinnipiac at Connecticut
Can't pronounce "Quinnipiac?" Pronounce blowout. The reason is because the Quinnipiac Bobcats ran out of gas trying to better the Connecticut Huskies. (111-75; CONNECTICUT)

* Prairie View at Texas
It's obvious the Texas Longhorns can play basketball, while the Prairie View A&M Panthers can not. BIG win. (110-38; TEXAS)

* Canisius at #25 West Virginia
The West Virginia Mountaineers were ready to welcome the Canisius Golden Griffins of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference. The game ended up a blowout as the Big East runs away with this one. (80-68; WEST VIRGINIA)

* Wofford at Notre Dame
Let me give Wofford College a holler. The Terriers didn't win this game, but they did keep it close against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. (74-71; NOTRE DAME)

* Troy at Duquesne
It was a close fight, but the Troy Trojans got it done against the Duquesne Dukes. (78-72; Troy)

* Chicago State at IUPUI
Chicago State's Cougars add another loss to their tally as IUPUI's Jaguars gave Indianapolis reason to be jacked. (87-64; INDIANA UNIVERSITY-PURDUE UNIVERSITY-INDIANAPOLIS)

* Oakland at Missouri
We're now talking two teams from two states which share the same letter- M. Oakland University in Michigan, and Missouri in... guess which state. The Golden Grizzlies represent the Mid-Contintent conference. Their best team is probably Oral Roberts in Tulsa, OK. But Oakland has a big chance at an upset. Last season, the University of Houston upset Missouri on their floor. So there's hope if you're a Golden Grizzlies fan. You're just not going to impress Missouri, because the Tigers may lose, but not often. The last big "M" team that Oakland lost to was Marquette. That was an ugly loss... and so was this game. This loss now makes Oakland 5-7, and trail behind teams like Oral Roberts, Valparaiso (Oakland's next oppoent - road game; January 2nd, 2006), Missouri-Kansas City, and Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI - current leaders at 1-0 in-conference and 6-6 overall). (74-58; MISSOURI)

* Florida A&M at Florida
Florida's Gators rattled in nice baskets, but the Rattlers of Florida A&M had no answer. (84-47; FLORIDA)

* Virginia Commonwealth at Hampton
The VCU Rams butted horns against the Hampton Bison, and won by cuarenta, or 40 for the rest of us. (84-44; Virginia Commonwealth)

* Southern California at Stanford
Palo Alto, CA is the next stop. It's close to San Francisco and the ever-popular Alcatraz prison. That was the same way the USoCal Trojans felt losing this game to Stanford's Cardinal. (77-56; STANFORD)

* Elon at Clemson
This HAS to be an upset! The Clemson Tigers took a world-shattering loss to the Elon Phoenix. I thought Elon wasn't capable of wins like this against big conference teams. That's why you should be careful when saying "this should be an easy win in the sense of big team vs. cupcake. (74-69; Elon)

* Towson at Lehigh
The Lehigh Mountain Hawks played good in this game, but three points was the difference as Towson's Tigers won for their home town of Baltimore, MD. (69-66; Towson)

* Longwood at Long Island
The Longwood Lancers get another win. This time, they outclassed the Long Island Blackbirds. (87-69; Longwood)

* Eastern Michigan at Northern Colorado
Northern Colorado made history! They finally won their first game. Too bad it took the Bears 15 games to do it. Better late than never, right? Eastern Michigan couldn't believe this as Northern Colorado is 1-14 now.

* Ohio at Kentucky
The blue-clad Kentucky Wildcats made a difference against their Bobcat counterparts. Not exactly a blowout, but a margin of within 10. Usually anything over 15 is a blowout, 10 is just getting there. (71-63; KENTUCKY)

* Western Illinois at South Alabama
We're talking about Mobile, AL. The University of South Alabama's Jaguars are ready to attack some more prey. The poor saps in this one were the Western Illinois Leathernecks. (8?-5?; SOUTH ALABAMA)

* LeTourneau at Sam Houston State
The Sam Houston State University Bearkats welcomed LeTourneau. LeTourneau is a Division 3 basketball school with several different campuses, but I believe they are based in Longview, TX. The Yellow Jackets didn't get a warm reception as they lost bigtime to SHSU. (83-37; SAM HOUSTON STATE)

WOMEN'S GAMES
Let's keep things in Texas for the first few games, okay?

* Charlotte at Houston
It used to be that Houston's women's team was better than their men's team. Now, it's the other way around. The Houston Cougars don't have much star power now that most of their stars left for the WNBA or some other profession. They lose this game to the Charlotte Lady 49ers. (80-71; Charlotte)

* Texas at Rutgers
The Lady Longhorns of Texas used to be one of the best teams of the past. Now, the present Lady Longhorns lost to the Lady Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. (63-49; RUTGERS)

* #2 Duke at San Diego
San Diego already seen sports action with the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl. But the San Diego Lady Toreros weren't looking for a Blue Devil beatdown... but got one anyways. (115-52; Duke)

* Central Michigan at #10 Michigan State
The Lady Chippewas of Central Michigan lost by a quarter to the Lady Spartans of Michigan State. (75-50; MICHIGAN STATE)

* South Florida at LSU
The Lady Bulls got pummeled by the LSU Tigers. So LSU wins in Women's Hoops and their Bowl Game... both in blowouts. (87-44)

2005 comes to an end with 2005's final college basketball games! You'll get the report early Sunday Morning, but a new year is coming, and so is my Saturday report. See you then!

SATURDAY'S GAMES
The final games of 2005! Want to make a statement? Better make it now, player! I've selected these scores to show off to all of you for the last time in 2005.

MEN'S DIVISION

* Arizona at Washington
This was a Pac-10 fist fight between Arizona and Washington. Washington is #7 in the nation and unbeaten. The Huskies hoped to stay undefeated. You will lose games in basketball, since a loss in basketball is okay only as long as you make the postseason come March. And let's face it. Not too many teams will run the table in basketball like it's possible in football. So, for Arizona, this is a chance for the Wildcats to bring Washington off of Cloud Nine. It took double overtime, but Mission Accomplished for the kitties, and they pulled the trick. BIG upset of a Top 10 unit. (96-95, 2OT; Arizona)

* California at #11 UCLA
The Los Angeles-based University of California-Los Angeles is ready to ring in the new year. Only thing is that the UCLA Bruins weren't excepting to celebrate by losing to the California Golden Bears. This is only UCLA's second loss, but they are at 0.500 in Pac-10 conference play. (68-61; California)

* LSU at Ohio State
There was a thriller in Columbus. LSU and Ohio State took it to each other. The Buckeyes didn't want to get upset, and by holding off LSU, Ohio State feels much better keeping the Tigers at bay. (78-76; OHIO STATE)

* Chicago State at Michigan
Chicago State's woes continue as the Cougars got PWNED by Michigan's Wolverines. (86-69; MICHIGAN)

* Coppin State at Michigan State
Now for Michigan's in-state rivals. Sure, Michigan and Michigan State don't like each other. However, it's nice to know that the Spartans can blow out opponents like their Ann Arbor counterparts. Well, the Coppin State Eagles fell victim to the Spartans. You talk about Oakland not doing so well, Blazin... take a look at THESE guys as they fell to 0-11. Winless in 2005. But can they prevent being the second coming of the 2004-2005 Savannah State Tigers? We'll see in the coming weeks and months. (78-54; MICHIGAN STATE)

* Louisville at Miami
This seemed like a great match. A Big East newcomer meets an ex-Big East team. The Hurricanes' football team got embarrased in the Peach Bowl against LSU, and they hope the Men's team doesn't get embarrased by Louisville. For Miami's sake, the Cardinals outclassed the 'Canes by 13. (58-43; Louisville)

* McNeese State at Houston
The Houston Cougars had a hellacious 2005. Now they're looking to 2006 as they wasted the McNeese State Cowboys. (78-67; HOUSTON)

* Iona at Seton Hall
This isn't the Hawkeye state... this is Iona College. (79-53; SETON HALL)

* Pennsylvania at BYU-Hawaii
Most college sports fans know about BYU. But have you ever heard of BYU-Hawaii? BYU-Hawaii is home to the BYU-Hawaii Seasiders(?), but the Pennsylvania Quakers travelled very far to get a nice win over this Pacific West Conference team. (77-62; Pennsylvania)

* Western Carolina at Georgia
The Bulldogs have won nine games so far, adding Western Carolina's Catamounts to their hit list. (89-65; GEORGIA)

* Oregon State at Oregon ---RG: Civil War---
Just like football... we got the Civil War. Oregon and Oregon State simply don't like each other. In sports, we love rivalries. That gives us reason to watch games unfold. There was reported bad weather on the West Coast, but the Ducks were able to ford through to win, leaving the Oregon State Beavers to suffer. (70-64; OREGON)

* Stanford at Southern California
We stay with the Pac-10 and talk about California this time. The best basketball team in California is most likely Stanford. The Cardinal faced a big set back to the cardinal... and gold of the USC Trojans. For a team that's projected to be a Final Four contender, Stanford is 4-6 and 0-2 in the Pac-10. They need to improve in a hurry. (81-72; SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA)

* Duke at North Carolina-Greensboro
Two of North Carolina's schools go at it. Just too bad the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans had to lose so bad to the Duke Blue Devils. (102-69; Duke)

* Villanova at Temple
Villanova remains undefeated for the first time since the 1960s. The Wildcats from the Big East knocked off the Atlantic 10's Temple Owls. (75-53; Villanova)

* Jacksonville at Auburn
Nearly flirting with defeat, Jacksonville's Dolphins fell apart to the Auburn Tigers. (87-83; AUBURN)

* Arkansas State at Oklahoma State
The Oklahoma State Cowboys didn't disappoint over the Arkansas State Indians. That might help out OkSU a bit. (84-64; OKLAHOMA STATE)

"Forgot the Titans" Detroit at South Carolina
Three dimes was the difference as the Gamecocks got a little too cocky and beat down the Detroit Titans. (65-35; SOUTH CAROLINA)

* Northwestern State at Texas A&M
Gig 'em Aggies! That's exactly what Texas A&M did for all their loving fans in College Station, TX, making short work of the Northwestern State Demons. Texas A&M is still the only undefeated team not in the Top 25. (73-61; TEXAS A&M)

* Youngstown State at Illinois-Chicago
In Overtime, the Illiniois-Chicago Flames burned up the Youngstown State Penguins. Uh oh... that doesn't sound good... (85-84, OT; ILLINOIS-CHICAGO)

* Saint Joseph's at #8 Gonzaga
Oh, this was going to be a good one. It was, don't get me wrong... just that these two were going to go toe-to-toe. In the end, though, Gonzaga was just better. The Bulldogs downed the St. Joseph's Hawks in this battle of two great baskteball teams without a football team. (102-94; GONZAGA)

* #20 Nevada at St. Mary's
St. Mary's is in trouble now. The Gaels upset the Nevada Wolfpack. Nevada was doing so well until this Judgment Saturday happened to them. Nevada is now 10-2 with this loss. (89-80; ST. MARY'S)

* Hartford at Virginia
What a way to celebrate 2006. Virginia's fight song sounds a lot like Auld Lang Syne. It doesn't mean, however, that the Cavliers are going to look to 2006 and totally forget about 2005. The spread was nine as the Hartford Hawks fell hard to the Cavaliers at game's end. (72-61; VIRGINIA)

WOMEN'S DIVISION
I've found four games against ranked teams for your enjoyment. Now, let's see how the ladies play b-ball. Doesn't seem to be too much competition in Women's games seem like with these scores...

* Tennessee at Notre Dame
The Lady Volunteers remain unbeaten as the Notre Dame Lady Fighting Irish fall. (62-51; Tennessee)

* College of Charleston at North Carolina
The Charleston Lady Cougars had no answer to the dominating North Carolina Lady Tar Heels. North Carolina's playing about as well as their male counterparts. (85-46; NORTH CAROLINA)

* Army at Connecticut
The Connecticut Lady Huskies shown the Army Lady Black Knights how to play basketball. (85-46; CONNECTICUT)

Those were some of the last games of the year. The first week of 2006 is coming soon with your complimentary Sunday Sampler, if I get any scores, that is.
