Okay, the season may have ended a month ago, but this is a chance for you all to talk about some of the best and worst moments of 2004-2005. Discussion is available for the following topics:

(1.) GAMES: best and worst games played
(2.) WINS: biggest win of the past season
(3.) LOSSES: the toughest losses and games that could have been or should have been won
(4.) UPSETS: the season's biggest upsets, or which topped them all?
(5.) DRAMA: everything from scary hits to season-ending injuries
(6.) TEAM PERFORMANCE: who performed their best? Who was perhaps the most underrated team? What team may have not been successful but have progress slowly? Who's next for dominating performances at Bowl Games?
(7.) FUTURE PROSPECTS: Who's next to have a whirlwind performance on the gridiron? What team will have the nation's number? Which coach will take his team to bigger and better places next season?
(8.) PREDICTIONS: What will be next season's national title game?
(9.) LAST SEASON IN GENERAL: What did you think of last season?

Pick whichever subtopics you'd like to discuss and come on down. The season may be over, but discussion is not. So let's do it!

I have to say that Utah has really made a statement this past season. I think American sports reporters would agree with me on this, but if college football's postseason had a tournament like in college basketball, Utah would be a nice fit for the Elite 8, or maybe even set up a Final Four of college football. Could you imagine if the final game would be USC vs. Utah and Utah upset USC by a field goal? Utah has a lot going for it into next year. Now, they won't have Urban Meyer at the controls, but the thing is, can they still function as good as they were last season? And nothing is guaranteed in life. Like, look at my hopeful alma mater, Houston. In 2003 Kevin Kolb and company put on a great show, making it to the Hawaii Bowl and just losing to Hawaii in triple overtime. What happened the season after? First, Houston loses to Rice and would go on to a disappointing 3-8 season. Our boys have to step up for next year.

Biggest disappointment for me was the Washington Huskies. They finished the season 1-10 after some nice runs in the past. They were co-1991 champions and didn't show a championship caliber performance except for the one game they won. As I would say, if you can't beat teams like UCF, UConn, Army, or anyone like that, your team isn't doing very well. Or like I seen in the NBA recently, the Atlanta Hawks won a big game recently.

PhatFat, I'm surprised you didn't mention Auburn for a national title game. Do you think they'll be upset by some team down the road? You think they may lose to other big SEC teams like Georgia, Tennessee, or even Alabama?

Well I'm concerned that they lost Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, Jason Campbell, Carlos Rogers, and Roesgreen. I'm not sure how well Tre Smith, Brandon Cox, and who ever they've got coming up on D can replace them this year. I mean it could be good but there is a lot of uncertanty and Tennessee should be a lot better this year because their QB's have more experience and they had a very good recuriting year. It just seems Auburn lost too many impact players especially in the backfield to be champions. But people were saying that about them last year on D to and I guess they were wrong so who knows.

Just going to throw out some random college football talk.

I don't know which was the bigger upset, Troy beating Missouri, or Florida beating Florida State. When you look at it, Troy was a good Div. 1-AA team before moving up to the big leauges, 1-A. Florida is still a good team, but when you beat the 'Noles from Tallahasse and you're the good ol' Gators from The Swamp, you should be given full respect. I think both UF and FSU are good teams, but Florida as able to knock off the Seminoles last season. Syracuse is still a great basketball team, but their football program held up very well. And Boston College hasn't had such a great run since Doug Flutie put up that Hail Mary against Miami (FL) back in 1984. I was probably one year old in 1984. But in 2004-2005, BC did very well. And I'm sorry for Boston College being upset on the road at Notre Dame. I look to see Notre Dame have a bigger and better shot at glory with Charlie Weis in the house. Kansas State had a dismal season last season, being ranked dead last in all of the Big XII. In 2003, they were ranked #5, and KSU is a solid program. I surely hope Washington doesn't have another 1-10 season, or much worse, 0-11.

I think Tennessee will likely make it to the SEC Championship game, but who they will meet will be interesting to see. Miami (FL) will likely play with more composure and not lose close games. The ACC isn't a team to joke with, but Miami will likely do much better than last season. I don't have a sleeper for next season. TCU will enter the Mountain West against the super-tough Utah Utes as the main competition.

If I have another "blog" of college football talk, I'll go for it.

Best game of the year, OSU-Michigan. Every year, this game is huge, and we got the big upset, everyone thought we were gonna get pounded at home, and we pulled out the spoiler. Oh man, marching down the ramp into that stadium, 105000 screaming fans, I'll never forget that.

Speaking of Ohio State, there was a bigtime upset that took them from the higher ranks as the Buckeyes went to Evanston, Illinois, USA. The home of the Northwestern Wildcats. In overtime, I don't know if there are earthquakes in the Heartland, but there were definitely some tremors as OSU fell to Northwestern. Michigan/Ohio State is almost always the biggest game of the year. Michigan was probably pretty fortunate to go to the Rose Bowl.

By the way, Texas played a good game against Michigan in the Rose Bowl. And say what you want about college basketball being better because of no BCS system, but college football proved to be, once again, a pretty good season. But then, if it was odd man out, I'd like to see an extra bowl game between USC and Auburn. You know, the SEC would probably beat the Pac-10 best. I think the SEC has a lot more star power, but I'm not bashing the Pac-10. The SEC is one damn tough football conference. Think about it. You got Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, so many names in the SEC, and all of which tough for something. Kentucky is better in basketball than football, and even non-SEC team North Carolina had a better season, and they knocked off a bigtime opponent last season against Miami (FL). North Carolina were pretty fortunate that they didn't beat Miami IN Miami, but it was still pretty strange for Miami to go into the ACC and lose to three teams in conference: North Carolina, Clemson, and Virginia Tech. And I think Virginia Tech will once again be a tough team to beat.
