This thread is to discuss all the goings on between here and the 2009 season. Stay tuned to this thread for some news notes I've taken as well as you being able to contribute your material as well.

For one thing, the University of North Carolina-Charlotte (or just simply "Charlotte," their sports name) has sold permanent seat licenses in an effort to start football. You can read more about this here:

The 49ers of UNC-Charlotte will play football on the FCS level starting in 2013. Their ambition is to join FBS. It would give the Charlotte area a good FBS team in the future as well as expanding the Charlotte market for college football. There is one Charlotte team in the city, and it's home to the Aggies of the historically-black school, North Carolina A&T. Good luck to the 49ers for trying to make this happen.

That's how it goes. Care to keep this thread rolling if you wish. I'll even allow questions or comments on the upcoming season as we head into August and September.

A lot of Spring football games have taken place. I'm currently watching highlights of the Georgia Spring Game.

Hope your favorite team(s) is/are doing well with their Spring games.

I'm sorry I haven't been updating this thread. One of the more interesting non-conference matches this coming season will be BYU vs. Oklahoma at the new Cowboys Stadium in the Dallas area. I made a video long ago about my predictions for this game. There's also a match between TCU and Clemson this season as well.

If you can believe it, we're only about two or three months away from the 2009 season.

This week is where training camp opens up in preperation for the 2009 season of college football. Now that I'm on YouTube, I am not sure if I want to make video updates or not. I may not even know if I'll be doing my Winners and Losers with YouTube. Still, I'll do all I can this season to chat about college football the way only I can.

Okay, people. Starting next week, I'll begin my College Football threads for 2009. The first game will be a Division 2 match next Saturday. So it's time to begin a new season. You ready, GTPlanet?

Ready...I can't believe the pre-season standings are out already (they're rather meaningless until Week 3-4, to be honest), although I suppose it's to generate talk and interest, and flare up debates for the next five months.
