The new week of college football is here, as we wind our way down to the one of the most crucial months of the year in football! Halloween brought up plenty of tricks and treats. However, some of the earlier upsets from last week were nonwithstanding. The Heisman race will heat up as well as finding out who really rules college football in America across all four divisions of NCAA football.

This is the week where contenders break away from pretenders. This is where struggling teams have a great chance to make plenty of noise. This is the week where "all or nothing" takes center stage. Welcome to the new week!

This Week's Schedule:
FBS: SUN, TUE, THU-SAT
FCS: SAT only
D2: THU and SAT
D3: FRI and SAT

--- Division FBS (RAPID FIRE) Scores ---
As a note, I ALWAYS do my scores by calendar week, not by a traditional football week. So this is going to be a bit complicated doing scores as I'm using the NCAA's website for my score reports. Since I'm late, here is a bit of RAPID FIRE:

* Marshall at UCF (21-20; CENTRAL FLORIDA)

FCS begins Saturday; Division 2 begins Thursday; Division 3 begins Friday

--- NFL Focus ---
Saturdays were made for football. But what about those who play on Sundays? Pro results coming up! Because I'm late with all of this, I'll just talk about my team and go RAPID FIRE the rest of the way.

Orchard Park, New York - Texans Seek to Extend Winning Streak to Three
* Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills
Western New York state was the site for this matchup. The Texans can pull to 5-3 if they can take down the Buffalo Bills. (I personally wished I saw this game, but I went to the Wings Over Houston Air Show with my family and only kept up with the game by listening to my radio). The Texans became 5-3 for the first time in team history. Their second half progress was what made the difference. The Texans will play AT Indy next, take a Bye week, then host the Titans for Monday Night football in two weeks. Now it's about playing hard in the AFC South. (31-10; Houston Texans)

There was no Sunday Night action for the NFL. So here are other results:
* Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (38-25; Minnesota Vikings)
* Carolina Panthers at Arizona Falcons (34-21; Carolina Panthers)
* Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (30-13; TENNESSEE TITANS) <<< TEN's first win of season
* New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (40-17; PHILADELPHIA EAGLES)
* Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (30-25; Miami Dolphins)
* St. Louis Rams at Detroit Lions (17-10; St. Louis Rams) <<< STL's first win of season
* Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys (38-17; DALLAS COWBOYS)
* San Francisco 49ers at Indianapolis Colts (18-14; INDIANAPOLIS COLTS)
* Cleveland Browns at Chicago Bears (30-6; CHICAGO BEARS)
* Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens (30-7; BALTIMORE RAVENS)

That's all from me here. Welcome to November!

Tuesday is Election Day. Did you elect me to dish out scores? Thanks! Well, let's get started! Oh, and as a note... this is election week, this is where I begin score reports with "You Decide:". Last year was more significant as it was a presidential battle.

Buffalo, New York - You Decide: Better MAC Team Between BGSU and UB?
* Bowling Green State {Falcons} at Buffalo {Bulls}
The Buffalo Bulls didn't have enough to stop the Falcons. (30-29; Bowling Green State)

FCS begins Saturday; Division 2 begins Thursday; Division 3 begins Friday

I was late coming up with this because I was doing the 24 Hours at the Nürburgring. If you're my Facebook friend, you may know I did this all in B-Spec because I'm terrible at the 'Ring and I can't do very long races. Anyhow, I'll be back either with new updates or for the match on Thursday. Take care, everyone!

Tonight on ESPN, it's Virginia Tech at East Carolina. See if the ECU Pirates (whose fight song I greatly dislike) can upset VT in Greensboro, North Carolina in my next report!

The weekend begins when work or school is done on Friday. For most college types, the weekend begins Thursday after class. Whatever you declare as a weekend, there's no better way to enjoy a weekend quite like welcoming college football to your space. So let's go to work.

--- Division FBS Scores ---

Greensboro, North Carolina - You Decide: ECU's Proposition to Upset Virginia Tech?
* #23 Virginia Tech {Hokies} at East Carolina {Pirates}
The East Carolina Pirates are not your average... BCS-beat-em-down team. The Pirates know how to put up a fight. Virginia Tech is a powerful program, but the Hokies can't afford another loss, especially to a potent C-USA team like East Carolina. Piece of cake beating Virginia Tech put on. No upset tonight. (16-3; #23 Virginia Tech)

DeKalb, Illinois - You Decide: Better Football Team- Huskies or Eagles?
* Eastern Michigan {Eagles} at Northern Illinois {Huskies}
NIU and EMU go at it. Though their initials are EMU, Eastern Michigan University is of a different breed of fowl- Eagles. The Huskies of Northern Illinois are ready to exorcise EMU. I can't hate on EMU too much because my former Speech teacher from Lamar University is an EMU graduate. Still, the Eagles lost a lot of feathers after getting roughed up in this MAC showdown. (50-6; NORTHERN ILLINOIS)

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - You Decide: Better Football Fowl?
* Miami University {Redhawks} at Temple {Owls}
After Temple have been an embarassment in FBS football for so long, the Owls have found a nice home in the MAC conference. Temple looks to take down some boys from Ohio. The Redhawks of Miami University want nothing more but to continue their winning streak. Miami University's season is over, so every little win for next season will count. The Philadelphia Phillies may have lost the World Series last night, but there were plenty of cheers in Philadelphia for the Temple Owls. (34-32; TEMPLE)

Division FCS begins Saturday[/U]

--- Division 2 Scores ---

Glenville, West Virginia - You Decide: Glenville State Proposes Beating Shepherd?
* Shepherd {Rams} at Glenville State {Pioneers}
This was the feature match on CBS College Sports. It was Glenville State at Shepherd. The Shepherd Rams wish to show their power by running all over Glenville State. Glenville State says, "bring it on," especially considering these two are rivals. The Pioneers just want another win to extend their winning streak to four(?). Glenville State got it done proper, dragging Shepherd by the legs all the while. (21-10; GLENVILLE STATE)

Division 3 Begins Friday

That concludes this report. In Friday's report, I'll let you know if Louisiana Tech upsets Boise State to leave the remaining non-BCS unbeatens to just TCU when Boise State visits Louisiana Tech. Take care, everyone!

Sorry for the late report for Friday's matches.

FBS: Friday Quick Report
Boise State won 45-35 at Louisiana Tech.

Division 3: Friday Quick Report
* DICKINSON beat Juniata 42-12.
* Gallaudet beats Maritime College 16-13.

That's all for Friday. And as a brief Saturday report, Iowa just got upset hosting Northwestern. Navy beat #2? Notre Dame in South Bend.

Huge turnaround in the Big 10 this week,things are really getting interesting now.With just 2 games left,things are starting to heat up.

4th ranked undefeated Iowa gets handed their 1st loss of the season.The Northwestern Wildcats took adavantage of 4 turnovers,and put up 14 points from this,resulting in a 17 - 10 victory.The loss puts Iowa in trouble as this was not the only downside.QB Ricky Stanzi goes out in the 2nd quarter with a severe ankle sprain,expected to miss the remainder of the season.Bad timing on this injury as the Hawkeyes will most definately need him next week as they travel to Columbus,Ohio for a Big 10 title slugfest.The winner of this match could very well be your Big 10 champs this year.The stage is set,the lights are going down,2 powerhouses on the same track on a collision course.Who will remain standing ?

16th ranked O.S.U. Buckeyes rolled into Happy Valley,PA. yesterday poised to do battle against the 12th ranked Nittany Lions.It was not very happy for the PSU faithful.The Bucks came into this one knowing that PSU is the top ranked defense in the nation,they know that PSU is on course to capture the Big 10 title,they know that if they want a shot at the title,they have to knock off Penn State on the road,they know that Terelle Pryor must have the game of his young career.It all came together,O.S.U. took it to the Nittany Lions by a score of 24 - 7. Showdown time young Buckeyes,next week,Iowa comes to the Horseshoe to do battle,without Ricky Stanzi.Are you ready Bucks ? Big 10 title implecations are on the line.

Bloomington,Indiana. The Wisconsin Badgers came to town in hopes of keeping their Big 10 title hopes alive,The Badgers held off a late rally to go home with a win 31 - 28

Ann Arbor,Michigan.The Purdue Boilermakers come to the bighouse and do what has not been done since 1966,they win,in Michigan by a score of 38 - 36. Michigan continues to implode,desperately looking for that 6th win,to try to become bowl eligable.If it does not come to be,how long has it been since this happened,2 straight years of no bowl game for Michigan ... ouch. They are young,they will rebound though.

Illinois tops Minnesota 35 - 32

Michigan State rolls over Western Michigan 49 - 14

For more in depth detail,video,check out the Big 10 Network

This week will end when Saturday's football is done. Now that Saturday's done, time to see whom all took a stand and made some noise this Saturday. Remember that each headline will begin with, "You Decide."

My GAME OF THE WEEK involves a huge tilt in Tuscaloosa as LSU hopes to deal some hefty damage to Alabama.

Tuscaloosa, Alabama - You Decide: Alabama to Rule the SEC West?
* #9 LSU {Tigers} at #3 Alabama {Crimson Tide} --- GAME OF THE WEEK ---
The nationwide mayhem begins in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as LSU seeks a massive upset of the 3rd-ranked Crimson Tide. The LSU Tigers are ready to roar as loud as they can. LSU's best efforts weren't enough to stop Alabama from getting the upset.

FINAL SCORE:
#9 Louisiana State - 15
#3 Alabama - 24

Gainesville, Florida - You Decide: Florida's Proposition to Rule the SEC East?
* Vanderbilt {Commodores} at #1 Florida {Gators}
Amid all the talk of Mr. Spikes gouging the eyes of the Georgia player last week, the Gators are ready to take on Vandy at home. A victory here will pretty much assure Florida vs. Alabama in Atlanta for the SEC championship. The Florida Gators handled the Vanderbilt Commodores like spanking a bad Kindergarten student (I know the feeling. I felt like s:censored:). (27-3; #1 FLORIDA)

Iowa City, Iowa - You Decide: Iowa's Proposal to Remain Unbeaten?
* Northwestern {Wildcats} at #4 Iowa {Hawkeyes}
Get ready for Big Ten football in Iowa! It's the Hawkeyes ready to rock their black and gold, and more importantly... be golden on this day. But to remain unbeaten, they must go through Northwestern. The Wildcats of Northwestern University have two proud alums you may have heard of- Michael Wilbon and Brent Musburger. Especially Wilbon would be proud to see his Wildcats knock the Hawkeyes off the catbird seat. (17-10; Northwestern)

Tulsa, Oklahoma - You Decide: Does Houston Rule Conference USA West?
* #13 Houston {Cougars} at Tulsa {Golden Hurricane}
Welcome to northeastern Oklahoma. We're not talking about the non-football school, Oral Roberts. But... we're talking Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane have a dream- to give Houston their second loss overall and in conference. The University of Houston took on serious odds and seeked a huge win. Tulsa is as huge of a ticket as Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, minus the national prestige both teams possess. This is a golden chance for the Cougars to get in a big win. Houston ALMOST lost. A comeback effort by the Cougars, followed by an amazing 51-yard field goal had them breaking Tulsa's hearts with a HUGE win. And uh, Case Keenum is the truth! But so is that guy who kicked the field goal that saved Houston's backsidess. (46-45; #13 Houston)

Ann Arbor, Michigan - You Decide: Wolverines to be Bowl Eligible On This Day?
* Purdue {Boilermakers} at Michigan {Wolverines}
The Big House may prove to be a big problem for the Boilermakers. If the Big House is a maximum security prison, then the Wolverines are the boys in blue and maize who scare their opposition straight. Purdue wasn't scared straight; they pushed the issue and took the win. (38-36; Purdue)

SIDE NOTE:
The Wolverines are now 5-5 overall and 1-5 in the Big Ten (good for 10th place in the Big Ten). They have two more chances to reach six wins.

Because I fell asleep and became exhausted last night, I'm going to now breeze through other scores.

I forgot to include Navy's upset of Notre Dame, basically taking away their BCS championship game chances. Now on to Winners and Losers.

John's Winners and Losers

My UPSET OF THE WEEK is...
(tie) #1 Richmond losing to #4 Villanova in FCS 21-20; unranked West Alabama beating #1 North Alabama 31-28 in Division 2!

I could have picked Iowa losing at home to Northwestern, but #1 going down is #1 going down. If I had to pick which of the two I'd accept as the winner, I'd pick the West Alabama beating #1 North Alabama because West Alabama was unranked heading into this match.

My OWNAGE OF THE WEEK is...
Edward Waters OWNED 70-6 at Valdosta State!

This had to hurt. Winning by 64 will win you my OWNAGE honors.

John's Student Lounge
I had a chance to go to Galveston on Saturday. It was the first time I really explored Galveston. Galveston is really a beautiful city as I looked out into the Gulf of Mexico along the sea wall.

Now that this week is over, here's my music pick to a song that's been in my head for most of this weekend:

^ "Let it Roll" by Divide the Day

Next week's thread will come when it's ready! Take care, everyone!
