This is the postseason thread. Here is where you can chat about all of the postseason action across all of college football (including non NCAA FBS football). Today (NOV 20, 2010) is the start of the Division 2 playoffs. I'll be sure to update this thread with information on all the Bowl games for when Bowl season starts up.

For now, let's talk postseason college football!

My team just got destroyed. The Texas Longhorns cut their Offensive Coordinator, Offensive Line Coach, and Defensive Line/Special Teams Coach - excuse me, I mean those people either left or retired. All of those cuts were good. But Florida just poached defensive coordinator (our next head coach) and one of the only reasons I had any hope for next season. :(

Let me just say this- it's RARE to see Texas have a losing season. Texas is one of the most successful football programs in all of college football. It's tough that Texas had such a rough season and got roughed up so much. The one thing I was pleased of was Texas beating Nebraska at Nebraska. The one thing I was disappointed about, however, was them getting railed by UCLA followed by a loss to Oklahoma the following week.

Elsewhere, the playoffs are still ongoing in FCS, Division 2, and Division 3. Perhaps even the NAIA and other different college football leagues are still playing their postseason matches.

Well, guys, I'll be at the Orange Bowl rooting for the Cardinal with my cousin.

Also, Al Golden has the freshest haircut in the world.

Enjoy your Bowl season, peoples! :D

Just watched the Washington-Nebraska game and I'm really glad that we pulled off the upset to end the year on a winning note.

Go Huskies!

Great showing by the Big 10 so far. ( 0 - 4 )

I'm hoping the Buckeyes can beat Arkansas and try to save face for the division.

TCU beating Wisconsin was the biggest surprise so far for me.I never seen this one coming.I would have bet the house that that Wisconsin would have handed it to TCU.

I was most disappointed with Michigan and Michigan State, but especially Michigan State. How can you just not show up the way the Spartans did? Top 10 teams are NOT supposed to be beaten by lower-ranked teams by 3+ touchdowns. Inexcusable.

I mostly saw the first half of the Rose Bowl. It was fun seeing the beautiful Paula Deen as Grand Marshall of the deal. She even jokingly said, "can I flip this coin with my skillet?" It was a fun moment. Congratulations to the boys from Fort Worth for taking down Wisconsin. Now the playoff talks would REALLY begin. Then too, I'm not sure if you'd replace Auburn or Oregon with TCU for the title.

Know what the best part about college football is? Tailgate parties.

Free food, beer, and wine for 4 whole hours before kickoff. I'm gonna be wasted by 3rd down.

Potential good one tonight- Stanford vs. Virginia Tech in Miami (Omnis country). Unless this game just is a rout, I'm expecting this game to be decided by no more than 10 points. Part of me says Stanford will win tonight's game. But really, this is just about a deadlock either way.

Vt's td was bs. This game is freaking awesome though. Go Stanford!

Lol! What a game. I was up in the students section raising hell and starting the "Go! Stanford!" chants with the others. We were upper corner. Amazing blocking by the cardinal o-line tonight. Defensive front was sick too.

Rich Rod is gone, maybe now Michigan can get someone who won't destroy the team. Although the Big 10 is a massive joke now days anyway. At least OSU went ahead and showed the entire college football fan base what a joke the Big Ten and just NCAA football is in general.

Oh and Michigan State is an embarrassment to lose like they did. I'm glad they got shafted out of the Rose Bowl, after how they played against Alabama their true potential really came to the surface.

OSU needs to win tonight to at least have some face saved with the Big Ten...you know how hard that was to say? I just said I wanted OSU to win. This is bad

Sugar Bowl tonight! It's Ohio State vs. Arkansas in New Orleans. It will be interesting to see if Ohio State can take down Arkansas tonight.

Tressel is 0-11 against the SEC (or something like). He can't win. It's psychological me thinks. Will watch the game nonetheless, I can't stand Patrino (loser of a man), but OSU is not that inspiring. Second thought maybe I won't watch. Nah I'll watch.

Thanks for that subtle reminder. That thought has been bothering me for a while.Tressel needs to get this monkey of of his back - big time !!!!!

All those season rumors were true I guess,Rich Rod is out.I'm sure you can breathe a bit easier Joey. The next up is rumored to be Jim Harbaugh ? Not sure

I had forgot, the Big 10 did win 2 bowl games this post season.Illinois won and Iowa won.So at least the division has 2 wins.Hoping the Bucks can make it 3.It all depends on which Terrell Pryor shows up.With the recent distractions surrounding him,it will be interesting as to how he responds.

Off to watch the game,go Bucks.

Unfortunately Rich Rod might not be fired, there is a meeting tomorrow to discuss it apparently. If Michigan keeps him that team is doomed. If Rich Rod is fired I would put money on Brady Hoke taking over. Jim Harbaugh would be a great coach and well respected but I think he'll either stay at Stanford or take a pro coaching job.

I will admit I haven't seen as much college football as I would like this season. I HAVE seen most of the first half of the Sugar Bowl. The Razorbacks were just having butterfingers on perfectly good passes. There was an absolute rainbow thrown by Mallett, misses one receiver, then one who should have caught the ball with no excuses... ends up dropping the ball. One drop too many for me. Maybe the best-looking play I've seen was a beautiful ball passed up top by T. Pryor to Ohio State's #8. The guy cradled the ball with one hand and neatly collected it in his chest. This was with about 1:59 left in the first half. There was an even weird play where Ohio State was heading to the end zone, fumbled the ball, then another Buckeye caught the loose ball for a Touchdown.

As of this post... 28-10 Ohio State. Now if Arkansas has an epic comeback to win, I'm pretty sure people in Columbus are going to want Jim Tressel's head.

Ryan Mallet is Jimmy Clausen 2. Useless under pressure.

Thank God, Rich Rod is officially gone, but now who will be Michigan's replacement? Brady Hoke will probably take over but after listening to talks circling around I wouldn't count out Les Miles either. Even though LSU fans are freaking insane, Miles did a great job at LSU and would be a good fit for Michigan. Plus he's a Michigan man which right there says a lot. Hoke, while a former DL coordinator at Michigan, still doesn't really understand what it's like to play for the school like Miles does.

And I'm glad OSU won last night and it wasn't a bad game. At least the Big 10 is reeling in some dignity.

What a Sugar Bowl ! Congrats to Jim Tressel and the boys, well down.

I'm so glad Tressel got that SEC monkey off of his back.It was nerve racking watching the Razorbacks just whittle away at the OSU lead. :nervous:
If not for the numerous dropped passes by the Arkansas receiving crew,or the late interception, this game would have had a different outcome ... guaranteed.

Whatever Michigan decides to do as far as a coach goes,(in my opinion),they need to build a defense right off the bat.If you give that big blue machine a defense, you will have a serious contender.Good luck Joey,I hope you get a good coach up there and maybe bring back some of that old school rivalry between the Bucks and the Wolverines.

The big one is coming next Monday.Any more thoughts on this one ? I still am staying with Auburn.I think the power has shifted to the SEC.Oregon is good, but I feel Cam Newton will shine and lead his Tigers to a close victory.

Still waiting on a Michigan coaching decision but all roads point to Les Miles right now, which I wouldn't be overly disappointed with. I really hope a decision is made tomorrow, we need those recruiting weekends.

Well, only one FBS team will finish unbeaten. Basketball on grass is probably expected for this game between Auburn and Oregon. Part of me says that Oregon will win tonight's game. Then again, you just don't go against the SEC.

Good luck to both teams. Whoever wins this game deserves the BCS National Championship.

Congrats to Auburn. This was one of the better BCS championship games. A last minute field goal to win the national championship it doesn't get any better than that. Oregon played well but I think the better team won.

It all just seemed academic after Auburn kept pounding away at the Ducks. HIDEOUS uniform for the Ducks (I'm sorry)! Hell- the Oregon CHEERLEADER outfits looked better than the Ducks' football uniforms. Great job by Auburn. Tremendous performance.

Brady Hoke? He'll do OK but Michigan won't be a Big 10 contender for years. I hope I'm wrong but realistically I know I'm probably not. At least Les Miles was a winning coach.

Michigan hired Brady Hoke? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and won't make a rush to judgement. He may turn out to be okay.

I too will give him the benefit of the doubt. The Les Miles deal had me :nervous:.He would have worked wonders up there at the U of M. Good luck with your new coach Joey.👍

Oh yeah, the Oregon Ducks uniforms ..... :yuck:

Congrats Auburn 👍
