GTPlanet, this thread is about four of the different military institutions in America. Air Force is part of the Mountain West Conference, the Army and Navy are 1-A Independents, and the Coast Guard is a Division 3 team as part of the Liberty League. The primary focus here is in talking about America's service academies. I could have made it without including the Coast Guard. I can personally tell you that after completing an ASVAB test six years ago, just about all the different service academies calling me up to join the service. We're talking about service academies in college football, so feel free to talk about the service academies in this thread.

ARMY
The team sucks nowadays, but the United States Military Academy has seen about three National Championships around the end of World War 2. Usually, the best reason to see Army is to see them play the annual Army vs. Navy game. Again, this team is pretty horrible now. In their defense, at least they are not Temple. Always remember that even though the Army may be bad at most college sports, they are certainly winners in rasing our future heroes and heroines as part of the U.S. Armed Forces. We can always use more heroes to defend America at home and abroad. Their nickname confuses me. They are the Black Knights, but they are also called the Cadets. Regardless, West Point, NY has plenty of proud future soldiers both on the football field, and also the field of war.

NAVY
College Sports Television (CSTV) calls Navy "America's Team." The Navy Midshipmen are perhaps the best military academy in college sports, especially college football. The Annapolis, MD-based United States Naval Academy sees some good football by one of only two Maryland schools in Division 1-A. Navy has made it to several Bowl Games in their time, including their Bowl Game this past season. The future is quite bright for Navy on the gridiron, even with the renewal of the Maryland/Navy rivalry last season. Navy is all about handling the big ships

AIR FORCE
Former Conference USA team Air Force is the second-best 1-A football team. They are the Air Force Falcons, and they call the United States Air Force Academy their home. I believe they are based in Colorado Springs, CO. They are usually rivals against Colorado State. The Air Force Academy is for all the ones who patrol the skies in keeping us all safe. I can recall that when the tragic events of September 11, 2001 occured, I heard fighter jets patrol the skies that night. This is not to mention that they also have great aircraft to patrol the skies and defend us from any strikes on water or in the air.

COAST GUARD
Of course, I could have made it just about thr popular three service academies, but I decided to include Division 3's Coast Guard. The United States Coast Guard Academy is based in New London, CT. Last season, the Coast Guard Bears finished 2-7 overall and went 0-7 in conference. I heard they had all sorts of programs in sports other than their football. Their conference is the Liberty League.

Well, this thread is about college football among the service academies. I'm not sure of a Marines academy (closest I got from Google was the United State's Merchant Marine Academy), so since I don't know, I will not include. Other than that, you're free to talk about college football among service academies here.
