Recently I've made a post, where I stated that I want to come back to earlier GT6 version for a couple for reasons. So... I did it! :) First - savegame backup, then delete whole game, couple of hours of downloading and installing (I have digital copy). Canceled the updating after seventh had installed. Old save (from newer version) wasn't working, so I started the game from beginning. Straight to Senna events, made about 2 millions of money, bought some cars and started comparing and writing my thoughts :) I've chosen 5 cars, that I've been driving very hard recently on the newest version (1.20). These are the differences that I've found:

- Framerate. Gooood, this is smooth. Compared to latest version, this feels so much better. It's so good, that it sometimes feel a bit weird :) And I can switch on flicker reduction, which I rather need on my old CRT TV. I don't know if the difference in framerate is so vast on LCD TV, but I suspect it will be similar.
- Handling & Car Behaviour. This is a BIG ONE. Really, I didn't suspect, that it has changed so much through the updates. I've stated before on this forum, that it became worse with almost every update. Well, I was wrong, very, very wrong. In the 1.08 cars handle and feel different. The grip for instance isn't progressive at all. I tested Comfort Hard, Medium, and Soft. All of them feel, like they are made of plastic. In short, the edge between gripping through corner, and sliding is very thin. Also, they are very nervous. Keeping car going straight, or where You want it to go is much harder (at least with DS3). I suspected, that it may be like that due to default camber setting change (from 0/0 to 0.5/1.5 in rear wheel drive cars), but Nissan GTR; which has exact the same camber setting in old and new version; behaves just like other cars. There must have been some serious tweaks and changes in physics with later updates, which leads me to:
- Lap Times. With 4 cars, that I tested (Megane RS 265, 458 Italia, GTR Black, Enzo) I was able to set faster lap time on Nordschleife in older version. The difference in each of these cars was 2-4 seconds per lap, which is actually quite a lot. The reason may be default toe setting (before it was 0.20, now it is 0.60), which makes cars understeer more, but I can't be sure.
- Suspension. Difference is recognizable. In the newer version it's more progressive and feels more natural (I used old Dodge Charger to find out). It's hard to describe, it's like analog and digital. Feels more alive in latest ver.
- Navigating The Menu. Simply, it was faster in the 1.08

Conclusion:
I've downgraded GT6 mostly because of framerate issues, and that stupid default 0.60 toe and camber change, which ruins watching replays for me (I know it may seem as a small, minor issue but for me it isn't). Now I'm 100% sure, that I will make another come back, this time to the latest version :) Physics are much better now, it's the opposite to what I've been thinking before. Sometimes we rembember things better, than they actually were :) If only we can change wheel geometry without changing whole suspension :) Damn PD, let us do it! :)
So... back to newest version :)

P.S. The whole operation isn't as time consuming as You would think, especially if You are disc version of the game, and decent internet connection. With both of that, You can make it in less than 4 hours. I don't reccomend this however without making save backup to USB Drive :) If You have free time and want do find out by yourself, You'll be surprised how this game actually evolved.

So I guess 1.08 falls into the "Don't meet your heros" category? It's very interesting how much the game has evolved. I thought most physics changes were just placebo, but it seems that they did actually change.

Now I want to get back into GT6...
