I recently discovered the benefits of practicing with comfort tires. I happened to notice when i bought a used car that the scrolling text at the bottom of the screen mentioned about getting normal tires for free and learning to drive with them. So I started doing it and then when I have worked hard at a family cup scenario for the race I'm heading for then I switch back to sport tires for the actual race. I do great this way and am getting much higher a-spec point victories.
So I hope you didn't know this and now you will improve your skills just like I have!:P Just trying to be helpful to the other noobs!

Nice idea, although as long as you don't go race supercars, there's no need to switch to S2 ('fantasy') tires really.

I've been racing on Comfort (N2) tyres for a while now, they're way more real-life-like on non-race 'street' cars than S2's (as is well known), and many standard cars can easily win races on them. Since you're already used to them from training, why not start Family Cup races (let's say on difficulty "1" or "2") and race them that way? If your driving is decent, and your car choice OK, you'll still win - and in a significantly more realistic way. And once you've done that, you're well on your way on winning several other series, like the Compacts, the same way too.
(Don't forget to turn off the driving aids too, they tend to slow you down and teach you bad driving habits as well; like the tires, better to do without them early on.) The only thing you'll have to remember is that N2's start giving wheelspin especially on FF cars above 160 BHP, but cars like the CRX and the 4WD Skylines can easily deal with that.

Topic is guite outrageous,
but it's true that using N tyres can help to learn how to drive a stock car.
I have a habit of maximising a car's potential and put it in use at 1/4 mile
