hi i did a little bit of searching and found a thread concerned with how b-spec works... not exactly the discussion i was looking for...

my thoughts r that the commands are too simple... i didnt play bspec much in gt4, just 4 or 5 races... i must say i preferred the numbers over the arrows..

ne-hooo this is gt5 now.. obviously things change and progress... but i still feel bspec mode could have used more improvement as my point above about it being a lil simple..

i personally wish PD gave us more choices to direct out BOB more specifically such as.. late breaking or over taking from inside or outside as we can observe AI driving habits.. i found that on oval tracks my BOB would hit the breaks randomly and also had trouble over taking from the inside when it seemed like it was very possible.. he kept trying to overtake on from the outside in the truck event on daytona

i doubt such options as late breaking and more specific over taking instructions can be implemented in an update as it would take lots of programing ...

would like to know ur thoughts on the idea.. should PD have given us more commands or even more specific commands..

I agree. I would also liked to have seen the bobs be able to talk to us. They could ask "How am I doing?" or "Where's the second place car?", stuff like that. The commands seem too simple. This is the first GT game I've played so I don't know anything about previous B spec game modes.

I'm still working the beginner events and maybe its just my bob or the car I pick but I find I have to hassle him for anything to happen. If he is in a car that is evenly matched, it is impossible to get him to do what I want. I ran the Eiger Nordwand Short Track 3 times. First time I let him do his thing for 2 laps then I tried to get him to pass some cars. Finished 4th. Second time I pushed him the first few laps then had him slow down through the twisties and speed up through the sweepers. Finished 3rd. Third time I clicked "overtake" over and over again for the first 2 laps until he made it to the front. Then I told him to take it easy and he won. So I don't know what is best for these short races. If I don't pester him, he doesn't do anything. I would think if I chose "overtake" he would do his best to make it to the front without further instruction from me, but I guess you have to pester by selecting the same option over and over again.

If you are still doing the beginner events then yeah the drivers need constant commands to consistently win, unless you put them into a car that overpowers the competition. Usually if your car's horse power is more than the competition, you don't need to do anything besides tell them to pit/cancel pit etc. In the FGT championship for example, I had to basically send a command every minute just to get a win in all of the tracks.
