So here is a list of common and uncommon drag strips that I have seen used in GT5. Some of the more uncommon strips seem to be better than some of the common ones. If your going to be drag racing, these are some of the best places to go.

Here are some of the commonly uses strips:

Indy Road Course - Short, 1/4 Mile Drag
Special Stage Route 7 - Long Drag
Circuit De La Sarthe (Le Mans) No Chicane - Long Bumpy Drag
Top Gear Test Track - Mid-sized, half of SSR7 and La Sarthe

More uncommon (there's more I know it):

Fuji Speedway - Short, 1/4 Mile Drag
Nurburgring Nordshleife - Long Drag
Indy Superspeedway - Mid-sized
Daytona Superspeedway - Mid-sized
High Speed Ring - Mid-sized
Grand Valley Speedway - Mid-sized
Special Stage Route 5 - Mid-sized
Clubman Stage Route 5 - Mid-sized
Autodromo Nazionale Monza - Mid-sized
Autodromo Nazionale Monza (No Chicane) - Mid Sized
Tsukuba Circuit - Short Drag
Custom Tracks (Eifel, Toscana, Mt. Aso) - Length ranges

Don't be afraid to add in some of your favorite tracks and better tracks so that we can be more competitive and get more accurate readings.

Just wondering. Where is the starting and finishing point on the Fuji Track for the 1/4?

I can’t find it now, but I think there was a post about 6 months ago and someone worked out it was quite close to the 1/4 mile… Indy is much more popular though :)

Yes. I remember reading about it. Think that was before I was registered.

I tend to open a room with my own circuit, Fuji Apocolypse, where the first sector is used for drags. A good run will last around 24 seconds, and end at just about 200mph. Only one problem with it - It's kinda lumpy, not too much, but there's a jump at the end of the sector. Still makes for some good runs though!

The reason Indy Road is so popular for 1/4 drag is that the strip has a start line where people can fall off the yellow ledge and know both cars are going to have an even start...the strip and the return are made of different material and are different colors so U know U wont mess with the next race coming after yours while returning (unless their running multiple cars at once which is frowned upon)...IT would be nice to have the pit entrance closer but there are concrete areas along the way to the strip that you can test your launch on...The drag strip is lined two lanes for head to head racing.....thats why I think Indy is the best and its the only 1/4 track I run

Yea, if only the pit exit was closer to the strip...

Me personally i like SSR7, for me and many other people its a test of true car potential, You need launch, acceleration and top speed. Iv run many many enzo 1/4 tune's with my tunnel tune and most of the time i win but i can also keep going to 250mph plus. Running quarter is very fun sometime's but its missing the exitment You get from pulling someone back in top end for the victory. In conclusion i love both tracks and i respect the people the run them but its like 1/4 is a demo and SSR7 is the full game, your not getting the whole thing.

I also prefer the tunnel or top speed drags up and down @ La Sarthe...smoking past someone in the last couple hundred yards of the tunnel is fun. 1/4 mile is kinda like sex without foreplay :mischievous:

The main problem I find with the SSR7 tunnel and La Sarthe is the sore losers, who will draft you if you manage to get a better launch and have better acceleration than them. Then they have the audacity to claim they won afterwards, despite the fact that they had, essentially, cheated the entire run.
If PD did implement a drag circuit there should be a penalty for crossing the centre line, perhaps even a disqualification from the run >:0)

@smutty. You cant draft at SSR7 lol its not a race its in practise mode. And no matter where You drag your gonna get sore losers dude.

Umm, drafting doesn't work online unless the race has been started??
How sure are you of that, as I've done it many a time during free-run practice laps of circuit races, including SSR7. Perhaps you're thinking of boost, as that is only active during the race, but drafting an opponent is always there.

Nope, 100% sure there is NO DRAFTING EFFECT IN FREE RUN MODE. Ask anyone and they will tell you the same.
