29.007 isn't faster than 29.5?

Should still count? Last i checked, an apple is an apple, yes?
A Pink Lady isn't a Golden Delicious, and I can't stand Empires.

When you set the time originally, you did not meet the gold target. The game physics changed, and PD decided to change many target times to reflect the new physics (along with wiping leaderboards). Your old time may meet the new target, but you haven't set a time under the conditions of the new physics, therefore you do not have a gold trophy for it.

You need to set a time fast enough to beat the gold target when you enter the event. You didn't originally, and - unless you've gone back and done it since - still haven't. Doing that will solve the issue.

It also works the other way; people who set gold times previously have not had it (or the rewards) stripped on events where the target is now lower. That's because they set a time fast enough to beat the gold target when they entered the event...

"Penalty" is auto fail.
Surprisingly, no it's not. The vast majority of cases where you would get a penalty you also instantly fail, but in certain license tests and circuit experiences, if you cut the track the exact right amount, it's possible to get a penalty without failing. It's exceedingly rare to do, but it does happen (I think I had it happen twice to me).

Now this is not the case here, this is just post update time changes.

I've had this happen many times. It's kind of funny that the game allows it.

Speaking of times... I rank 60,000th online and yet, get put against people 10 seconds faster than me. Why can't i ever be the one 10 seconds faster. Pretty sure, if I'm ranked 60,000th, there are 60,000 other people.

Assuming you mean in the Sport Mode Daily Races/GT World Series, the lobbies are ordered by Sportsmanship Rating first (high to low), Driver Rating second (high to low), and qualifying/practice time isn't a factor at all.

10 seconds on any regular track is pretty far off (on the Nurburgring it's pretty close), so you're not likely to be 10 seconds faster than many people - if any at all.

And yet, I'm always... And i mean ALWAYS in with someone 7-10 seconds faster than me and almost always getting pushed off the track

They claim that you'll be matched with people of your same skill level, and that's a lie.

Presumably not by them, as they're several grid positions ahead of you and pulling a second on you every ten, so they're never on the same bit of track to push you off...

Your skill level is measured by your Driver Rating (DR) which reflects your average results and your Sportsmanship Rating (SR) which reflects your racecraft. You are matched with people of the same SR level first, then DR level second - as I mentioned already.

Additionally, the smaller the number of people in your region using the same console as you entering the same race as you at the same time, the more varied the matchmaking is.

I have not looked but I have golded on licenses before 1.31 Because PD wiped all records does this mean I have to redo my license tests? Or do my prior gold stands but not the time records?

No, you're prior results stand even if htose times no longer met the requirement for Gold.

Are you logging on late at night? If so, that's why. There are less people playing late at night, so the pool of people to pair you up with is smaller. Try logging on a couple hours earlier and you will be paired with more equal drivers.

Like... nine posts up.

Old record, new targets (post-v1.31).

@Outlaw2942 , can notice that your pic doesn't show your "best time" at the leaderboard, on the right side.
Is this 29.007 also showing there?
I believe not, it's certainly showing your time achived under the new physics, which should be over 29.500.
I think the old gold target was 28.200 sec, so that's why your "old" 29.007 only was good for silver.

Yup,i suck

I consistently suck.

Your screenshots are unrelated to the matter of this topic of why your best time from the last game version is faster than the requirement of the current version but does not apply, and the answer to that is simple:
because the time is not driven within the ruleset of the current version, it is not valid for achieving gold in the current version.

I believe we went off-topic since post #8
