Ok, this is just for fun, not to put down either game or it's fans . . .

I own and like both games, as well as FM3 and F1 2010. These sure are good times for racing/driving fans.

Comparing GT5 to Shift is like comparing . . .

A physics class with Stephen Hawking to a weekend party with Charlie Sheen and friends.

They really are different games. Its like comparing a Ferrari to a Fiat, you just can't.

That's why i almost own both... (shift2 still in transit...)

Shift 2 is fun, thats all its supposed to be I think, media hype gets the casual gamers in but the die hard fans of racing sims, well they get a little disappointed. Anywho I'm enjoying it and I am glad I bought it. (just need a LOT of practice to get some decent times.)

It also gives me a reason not to be grinding GT5

Quite true. I wonder if the Driving is all that matters in GT5 if everyone would be happy to pick up groceries and drop the kids off at Soccer practice in GT6. Afterall driving is what's fun about GT5

GT5's cold and mechanical and just comes in different specs, Shift 2's are full of life and is individual from one to the next.

I've opened a thread similar to this about a year or so back and it was closed because it doesn't contribute anything at all and becomes spammy really quickly. And I've seen other threads like mine (and this one) closed as well.

Really? You're just a member like all the rest of us who doesn't hold any particular status on this board that makes you or your opinion special

which correlates to two, because you come into a new thread with nothing to say other than "yeah, this thread is going to be locked, just saying, you had to know that, but oh forget the fact that there is no evidence to what I claim," predicting what a mod would inevitably do and acting as if you're doing us some sort of favor by sharing it with us.

They get closed because they either turn into flame-fests and/or pointless spam filled convo threads.

All T12 did was offer you the benefit of his experience, as a long standing member, with these kind of threads, he was not acting as a mod (had he been I would right now be sending him on holiday) and trying to help. That he then gets attacked does little to convince me this thread should stay open.
