I have been researching a lot of things like this lately. I am not so interested in touring type racing though. 75k pounds is also rather steep for something that only one person could attain. If you have already achieved something small in motorsports, pay drives like this shouldnt be that rare an opportunity.

One interesting series I just found was the Formula Palmer Audi championship. It does appear to be what it claims. A very very cost effective series with quick cars and very good career enhancement opportunities. For 35k pounds you get something like 14 races in much quicker cars. 250hp formula cars with slicks and wings.
