i was wonering about a competition form that ppl post there times on certain corses and then the top ppl get in a hall of fame sorta thing (but offcose there would be no proff of this bar photos which im sure alot of ppl couldnt send in because they dont have a scanner).
Or even thinking ahead when gt* gets on the net and if there is a possability to race other players from around the world gtplanet could have there own competiton where ppl play in a tournament and the top 3 get in a hall of fame there could be many rounds of this so many top 3 players this would sure be really magnificent and really really would get your site big poplicity.
i would just like to say thanx to all the mod's who made this site possable and it is really really magnificent i come here every day since i got gt3 well done and keep up the great work!!

Yes, I know what you're talking about, and those are very good ideas.  I am working very hard on a new design and layout for GTPlanet, and once that is completed, I will look into features such as Racing-Line.org have implemented.

Speaking of the next Gran Turismo game (Gran Turismo Network), I have registered GranTurismoNetwork.com for use sometime in the future...

And, if the GTPlanet community grows large enough, anything could happen.  :D

yep jordan you definately seem to be on top of things i have to and it to you well done remember if you ever need any help i will be more than happy to help just pm me

Yes, it's a good idea Jordan ;)
You may or may not know, racing-line.org is my home site(as I call it), I sort of branch out from there, I'm also a moderator there, Problem with having record table's or the like, is you get many crazy times submitted, by some people, just to get their name at the top.
You need a group of guys, who know what car's are capable of what speed/time, we are fortunate to be able to call on some of the best drivers, for their opinions on suspect times, even then, we could be wrong, but if suspect drivers times, can't be proven within a week or two, they get deleted. We used to ask for sector times/average speed, GT3 is a little different from Gt2, as you don't get the sectors/ave speed after a race, anyway thats not my worry :)
At times you always get some clever bugger trying to slip a hybrid in with the others, which is a pain at times.
I hope you work out a good system to only include honest times, if so, Good luck :)

I didn't know that, Rob! You never mentioned it! :)

That was something I was thinking about last night, so I'm going to need some time to figure this out...

Hi, :) yes it will take some thinking about, even if everyone sent replays, imagine watching all them laps.
Even if you rely on people being honest, some are not.

ye i agree but it would be very hard to get a system that only lets honest players post as every hasnt got a scaner to send pictures of proff in but good luck jordan! :-)

Hi lads, and as Rob knows i also hail from
racing-line.org.

At the moment i'm using one of those systems
that lets you explore the web through your TV
called a netbox, so can't help you guy's out at
the moment, but for now i would be happy to
add input to any ideas you may have for the future
as i can see online racing advancing quickly in the
next year or so :)

Shaun.

A good thing you told mentioned this!  GTPlanet's mail server was down at the time, and when it finally did send all the mail, I was overwhelmed and never got around to reading your message.  :frown:

I just took another look at it, and the idea is great.  I can imagine how popular it would be!    A major undertaking, though.

feel free to post the body of it if you want to see other peoples' opinions.

I am curious myself.

please post it, so i can see this thing........

OK, here it is:
ok, I have some ideas.

1. Set up stepping stones series open to all racers.

2. Set up pro-series for all.

3. Elites for those that earn it.

4. 1 owner per team

5. 2 drivers per team.

6 1 test driver.

7. The owner selects his team.

8. Team mates must run the same car.

9. A test driver may race with another team and with his own if one of the
racers cannot, but the racer he replaces will get the points.

10. The lower classes can be used to asses drivers.

11. Cars will be limited by power-to-weight ratio and a limitation on
suspension adjustment.

12. Near stock racing will be highly limited, stock means no changes, and
near the higher class races there will also be limitations. Near the middle
it will be more open. Limitation by number or percentage, based off of the
stock numbers with whatever the allowed parts are. Be careful with rules for
gearing since if in, for example GT2, you have gearing like this:

3.876
2.777
1.987
1.412
1.089
0.789

4.098

Setting 22

Going to a 4.175 and then moving to setting 21 and then back will change the
other gears.

13. Set a variety of championships.

14. Points for pole, best speed with best lap, best sector time, place in
race.

15. Past a certain position, only 1 point or no points.

16. Extra points if team mates finish within the top 15, 10, whatever.

17. Manumfacturers' points.

18. Manufacturer teams, of course.

19. Annual endurance racers for those that qualify.

20. End of year super endurance race for the champions of each series.

Here it would be the combined time of several tries of a race.

So if you decide to use a pre-existing endurance race, like the Laguna Seca
one, then you would have the total of 3 races combined to get your time.

Hi, Just one point to think about, In GT3 sector times are not given like in GT2, not really checked it out, but maybe you can find them in that data logger, but you don't get them like you do in GT2.
Only a small thing, but a point worth mentioning.
cya

PS nearly forgot, the average speed thing is different too, plus Hp variations in identical models. points which need addressing I guess.
