Competition Judges Suggestion

From a lot of the competitions and team battles, there's been a lot of complaints about unfair judging. To possibly provide satisfactory results, and following D1GP's number of judges, I suggest:

-One judge elected from Team "A"
-One judge elected from Team "B"
-One judge elected by the majority of the competitors whom they feel his/her decisions are appropriate and accurate more often than not.

I'm not very familiar on how judges are selected in these competitions, but, from the outside looking in, that's my two cents.

That's more or less the only way it should be done really, just use common sense when picking judges, and don't whine like a baby when you lose.

Ye that's why I make everbody spectate and judge but when someone loses they wine and say its unfair. It makes me so upset....

I dont think im the best in the world but i have seen gtp judging first hand and i dont think anyone has done a great job yet... long story short i judged the Drop5 vs DriftNinja battle and both sides thought i was a decent judge you should go ask teams about judges and what they think rather than making a thread... or post a link

In finding judges, I would like to get some feedback from the members of the battle. So I can actually take account how is everyone doing. I have one person undertraining and I haven't seen any feedback yet.

Weekly Drift Series? Never heard of that one.

We had a similar competition of it. Basically, there is challenges and themes for each week.

Welcome everyone to the first of what will hopefully be many events in the Weekly Drift Series.

What is the WDS?
Well, it's kinda like the WRS, kinda like the DPC.

Every week a location and theme will be selected for all entrants to drift. The locations will be a short series of corners (never exceeding 4) at a particular track. A theme, if one is given, will not limit entrants car choice severely. It might be something like 'FR built between 1985 and 1995' or 'vehicle from Europe', or something along those lines. Fairly wideopen.

Entrants are given 1 week to drift and capture their run - normally this will be Saturday to Saturday. The video should have no distinguishing marks or characteristics that might identify the entrant - additionally, please do not post your car choice in this thread. The run should be captured with your choice of either the default track cam or with dive cameras, as well as with the chase camera + display (timer, guages, gmeter/wheel).

Entrants are asked to please upload their videos to YouTube, and provide me a link to their video before the deadline in a PM (do not post the video or it's link yourself!). Then there will be 1 week of voting (via a poll) to determine the winner. The winner will pick the theme for an upcoming WDS.
To recap:
  • WDS Theme/location given on Saturday
  • Entrants have 1 week to perform and capture their drift. No identifying marks. You may add music to your video.
  • Drift should be captured with track cam or dive cam, as well as with chase cam + display
  • Entrant upload their video to youtube. Do not post your video here.
  • Entrant PM's me the link to their video before the next Saturday.
  • A poll is constructed after the deadline passes (Saturday or Sunday).
  • 1 week of voting to determine winner.
  • Winner selects a theme/location for a future WDS.
I hope that gives everyone a good impression of the idea behind this competition, and how it will be run. But since it's new there may still be some bugs to work out. If anyone has any questions or suggestions please ask either here, or by PM-ing me.

So, let's get this show on the road. (yes, mark that one down as an intentional pun :sly: )
