Competiton tuning for Altezza series?

I just picked up an Altezza and I want to tune it so that it will be close to the competition in both series, but all my attempts so far have been too much or too little. I can't seem to nail down what would keep me close to the AI cars in either series.

Any one know what levels of tuning I'd need for a good close race?

In the Amateur series, I believe I used an Altezza with Lightweight 3, NA3 (381 hp), sport suspension/brakes, and racing trans. That yielded pretty good racing according to my notes. It was a bit of a blowout at Monaco and R246.

Thanks, I'll give those a try and see how it goes. :) I'm guessing I can go with the stickiest tires I can afford since wear isn't an issue, right?

I think just about any setting would be a blowout at Monaco, the pack is so tight that it can't get around such a tight course very well. The AI seems to be super-aggressive too, especially near the back.

300hp is all you neede to win the amateurs...

upgrades: race flywheel, semi-race suspension, chip, NA1... that should do it i think. its been a while

oops...
need a race exhaust, port polish and enginge balance to get it up to just under 300...

but this was a "blow away", especially with sticky tires

I found the following setup for the beginner series challenging (but do-able)

medium racing tires
racing chip
oil change

MT/DS2
No ASM/TCS

I couldn't beat the 2nd to last track, but I got 1st on the rest. Some of them I had to qualify for.

I'm still working on a setup for amateur.

for the amateur altezza series I used the following (in addition to what I used for the beginner series):

custom suspension
- 3 camber on front
- increase spring stiffness by 1 kgf/mm front and back
racing muffler
racing flywheel
sport brakes
NA Tune up stage 1
with the oil change it makes 273 hp

This setup was about right for the first 3 races. I couldn't hang at Tokyo. Monaco was a blowout, they were pathetic.
