Completely perfect the physics for once and for all.

Yes, well because I read the PS3 preview again and the power it is gonna have, I'm wondering if it would be a big deal to just perfect the driving physics of GT4. Just finish off that, so that in the upcoming games of the GT series, the physics are already there.

I would be really glad if the physics were perfected (-->see my sig!!!) and if it will work then it would be a tremendous gameplay advantage over all other games. It would be so cool to know while your playing that the physics are like real life, period.

I never heard anything about it here, would it be possible?

I'm not sure you'll EVER have truly perfect physics, (unless you're God and your game is Real Life) but I think they CAN get better. We'll see what PD does.

They'll improve it, we all know that. As long as there is no massive understeering like GT4 have, I'm happy.

Well, almost all physics have been explained in numbers and stuff, there are just VERY much numbers to fill into a game's script, I thought. But with the new PS3 that might now be a problem after all right?

I agree. I'm not sure how accurate the physics will be for the Arcade aspect, but McLaren had a great idea. With the space of the Blu-Ray disc, Gran Turismo 5 could have different physics models and game modes:

- Basic physics for the casual gamer and those who want to drift easily ;)

- Simulation physics for the hardcore race fiends.

Kazunori-sama said from the start that he wanted Gran Turismo to be a game that anyone from child to adult could enjoy. With GT5, maybe he can give us two versions with more precise physics for those who want to experience the "real" aspect of The Real Driving Simulator.

Yeah...like, that shouldn't be a too big problem right? They already have a very cool physics script for GT4. But it just lacks in some parts ie ---> TYRES!!!!

Or Maybe they'll have more physics modes?

Such as ones with a mixture of arcade and sim modes...

Also:

Is this about tyre physics or any kind of physics in GT?

If it's about other physics then getting the best physics would be hard as lots of people would be using gamepads for driving rather than top-of-the-range steering wheels, and apparently it's alot more realistic with a very good sterring wheel...

And also people who play games like Toca Race Driver 3 and NFS with a gamepad may find that 'GT is unrealistic as the cars don't steer' - (my friend's quote).

The only thing that is possibly more realistic than GT is GTR for PC but then again it's for PC and I wouldn't consider it a rival for GT...

Anyways, I hope they sort this 'tyre physics' problem for you Niels in GT5...

Haha yeah it's pretty darn frustrating seeing the drift cars in RL and just almost feeling how the cars should handle in GT4 if they had realistic tyre models. Live For Speed has more real physics wich should make it harder, but it's actually far more predictable, if you watch alot of D1GP videos and can kinda see how the cars move:tup: Trust me it's true!!

On a level with GT that are console available we have Race driver 3 (on pro sim), Forza, GTR and Enthusia, above it we have Live for speed, GTL, RFactor and NetKar pro to name a few.

live, please tell me you did not just put GTR in the same simulation level as GT4, Forza, and Enthusia.

GT5 needs to follow GTR's route with the modes (though the GTR Arcade Mode is still more advanced than consoles).

~Arcade - the basic aspects of driving. Basic GT now.
~Amateur-the physics are stepped up. While they aren't all the way GTR, GTL, etc., they provide just enough realism to tell you're driving a car as it is intended too. (Great for running highpowered cars without their full power.)
~Pro-The all out, no hold's bar simulation. The Mode that puts GT5 on par with the best of the PC world.
