Completing the Professional Events

Hi,

Just wondering if anybody can tell if you have to do all the beginner and professional on B-Spec as well as A-Spec to complete the professional series ?

Thanks !:)

Nope, you don't have to do both, it can be either. You can A-Spec one race, B-Spec another and it won't matter. As long as you complete the events in any option, it should be complete.

I'm guessing that you're not being allowed into the GT World Championship... If I'm right, before you post the next question you're going to ask, check closely that you've won ALL of the races (a bronze can look like a gold) and that you've won ALL of the Championship races too. Check your diary to see what cars you've won and compare it to a prize car list you can find in our Game Guides section...

And this is always more complicated to explain than it should be.

You don't need to win all races individually AND as a series. But winning the series championship itself is NOT good enough if you have skipped any races or have placed other than first in any race in the series. If you have any non-gold races (and you definitely have, if you are not being allowed into the GTWC), you must go back and win those races individually.

Hi Chaps, new to the forum.
i actually do have a problem with the world champs, i have done all 10 laps and come first place but it won't give me the money or the car, i've checked in the beginners events and the professional events and made sure (and i mean SURE) that i've got gold on ALL events but it just won't let me win the championship, is there something i'm missing?

any ideas chaps? this is doing my headin as it took me 2 days to come first in Hong Kong and that was a combination of A spec and B spec just to win it.

Ok this may sound stupid..but how do you know you've finished in first place? I mean, after the race, there's the replay and then the final position board and AFTER that, you get the Money (again, you may know this already) but tell me what happens?, does it goes back to the race selection screen? or what?

I believe you have to win the Championship instead of winning it individually in order to get the car.

Ciao...

if this is right......i have to win the race individually then i have to go back and do it ALL again..........DOH!

You don't have to if you haven't done it yet...if all the races are clear...then yeah., you have to re-do 'em.

Normally, you only have to do each series in Championship mode, NOT as individual races. This gives you the championship bonus and the prize car, and will fill in the individual trophies. You'll only need to go back to certain races individually and touch up any non-gold trophies you may have.

However, since you ran each race individually first, yes, I'm afraid you have to go back and run them as a series now.

My sympathy.

can't believe they set up the game like this!
when i ran other series i could just start on any course and get a gold, then go back and do the others.

so here i go then (again :yuck: ), even though i've got gold on all the world championship races i've got to start at the beginning of the world championship and run it from first race to the tenth race!
at least i'll be able to do the practice laps and hopefully get pole postion

Well, I suppose it's all good. Doing all the races again will make you a better driver. :) I do know where you come from though, it can get annoying when you really want to complete something.

Yes - because you haven't won the championship. You've done each race individually, but not the championship.

When competing in the championship you are given points based on your finishing position each round, and can only win the championship if you have more points at the end of it than any of your rivals.

There are two kinds of events: Single Race events and Championship Series events. The pre-race screen will tell you which kind of event it is.

Single Race events are just that - a collection of 3 or 5 individual races, which can be run at any time, in any order, and in different cars if you wish; you will get a cash bonus for each finish. Once you have completed all the single races in this kind of event, you will get a prize car.

Championship Series events are a group of races, usually 5, but sometimes more. As you've found you can run each one individually and get a cash bonus, but you will not get a prize car. You need to start a championship series, and you must run all the races sequentially, in the same car. You can exit to the garage screen between races to save your game and shut down the PS2; when you turn it on again, you can resume the series. However, you can't change cars or buy new parts or run a different event without forfeiting the series and starting over. You do not need to win every race to win the series; you just need to finish the last race with more points than your nearest competitor. If you have a greater than 10 point lead going in to the last race, you can skip that race, since you cannot lose the championship with that lead.

Once you win the series, even if you do not win all the races, you will be awarded a prize car AND a series win bonus (in addition to the individual purses for each race). However, you will need to make sure that you go back and fill in any non-gold races with a gold trophy for 100% completion, or to be allowed to enter the GTWC and then the Extreme Hall.

just done the championship today for the second time LOL. got the 250,000 and the Ford GT LM.....:dopey: what a gorgeous piece of kit.
did the stage 4 on the engine and now have 960BHP :dopey:
i already had a Ford GT that's well setup, my test for it is soul which the best lap i've had is 53.229, i took the Ford GT LM around it and imediately got a 49 second lap hehhehhehe.

the one piece of advise i'd give to anyone doing the world champs is to do the practice at the beginning of each race this way if you're good enough you'll get pole position.

thanks very much for your advise lads, time to start on the extreme course.

I found the GTWC rater easy. Maybe it's becasue I had a fully-modded (900+ HP) Nissan SKyline GT-R M-Spec Nurb. Ed. :dopey:

Huge effort - I know this series has been won using the NISSAN GT-R Concept LM Race Car '02 and has also been won with a JGTC car but I don't recall anyone winning in a non-race car. I will have to give it a try.

It really was a doozy of a challenge, before I got the settings right for every track. Good luck with it. :)👍

I have gold medals in all my races, including the championship gold. however i am still not allowed into the final race of professional, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

No, it doesn't say that you have all golds. If you can't get in to the GTWC, you've missed something, no matter how much you think you haven't.

Look back and find a bronze trophy that you mistook for gold. It's there somewhere. Or the series race that you won individually, but not as a series. You need to win the series as well as making sure you clean up any individual races you failed to win during the series.
