Computer crashing frequently...

Ever since I installed the software that came with my new Optical Wireless mouse, my computer's been crashing at things that it did not crash at before. Without the software the mouse doesn't work. Is there a way around it without switching mouse's?

Nope, for example.

I turn on my computer it loads and instead of having my logon menu come, I get a blue screen with writing that says, some recently installed software(my mouse) may not be functioning properly and stuff. Since my computer has no specific power turn out, I have to shutitoff from my Surge Protectar, then when I restart it a screen comes asking my to start where I started when my settings were good, and it's fine for a day before it happens again.

On the box it says, Micro Innovations. I've never heard of the company before..

That's a picture of the mouse of there website.

:odd: That's odd, I thought all mice were suppose to work just fine without the software? Plug n play? Maybe a bad mouse? Did you try it on another computer? What's in the software?

Unplug the mouse, uninstall the drivers, and restart.

Does it still crash?

Windows should recognize the mouse via PnP but, it may not have the drivers for it. That's why it may ask for a driver CD.

Make sure you only install the drivers and not any 'extra' software that might have came with the mouse.

Hold down the power button for 4 seconds and the PC will go off.

Yep. They changed that a few years back, they used to be switches. Now you have to hold down it for a while.

I'm going to un-install the software right now.

Ok, I deleted it and my mouse seems to be working fine.
But I thought you said "without the software the mouse doesn't work". :P

Anyway, now you know not to install mouse software unless Plug n' Play doesn't pick it up.

Well, when I first plugged in the mouse, it didn't work. So I installed the software and it started working. So I guess, the driver's are still installed..
