Computer DOES cheat, caught on REPLAY....

I am attaching a *.zip file containing the replay (.SPS, SharkPort file) of the "Computer Speed Boost" that has been rumored to exist. It has now been caught on replay.

I have been able to upload it thanks to my new SharkPort.

I'll look at it, never heard of this speedboost, it never happened to me since i was always way out in front :)

It's a 5 lap race replay, and if I remember correctly, the pass happens on the last lap.

Watch as these two cars perform impossible cornering and speed at the end of this run.

I did notice that the Mugen and Pennzoil were going faster than they should because they are doing 1'08s on lap 2 and the 94/s should be pulling out a bigger lead, i'll go watch the rest of it, i kinda stopped at the end of lap 2.

Yeah there is no way the Lancer and Subaru can do that, on their speedometer the Lancer is going '135' on the front straight and your 94/s is going over 180 and your not catching them, thats some seriously messed up crap there.

They actually let a bug get through on their driving engine.

I was okay with the GT2 bugs (except the original release garage problem), but I have to say I'm surprised to find such a big bug in the driving engine.

PD, please fix this for GT4 so it doesn't happen again. This is a driving simulator as you put it.

I'm afraid to say, that this AI bug, is not a bug at all.
The producer of the game implemented this feature on purpose to stop people cheating or something.

It was the dumbest thing he has ever done.

Just about every race i do has the cheating AI cars in it. :(

In a different situation I would say that this is how PD ballances a race. But since the 'cheating' car was out front, I think maybe they didn't have all their math correct.

There have been several times when I was behind on a short race and I knew I was going to end up a lap down that I somehow came out in the lead. And there have been a few times that I had a monsterous lead and the race ended up rather close at the finish. There is a certain ballancing that the game engine does to keep the game entertaining.

This has never happened to me either. No car has ever blown past me at an unreasonable amount of speed. I hope it stays that way too. :)

*Off GT3 Subject*

I noticed that the super speed bursts occur on GTA3 as well. It mostly happens whenever cars turn corners at the start of the bridge going to Portland on Staunton Island.

Im sorry to take up room with my GTA3 crap but it is better than making another new post about it. :)
