Computer HELP?

I am running windows 98.
Can someone tell me how i can change the software a certain file type opens with? i looked all over but no luck. any one here help?

IIRC... Hold shift while right clicking the file. And there should be something like an "open with" menu item with a sub item called "Choose program" where you can select whatever you wish.
