Worked my path up from last on Maggiore to 8th, then last lap, last corner down the hill sits my orange friend ready to send. Unable to change my line so pinned was I. That off I went, Travis Pastrana would have had a wide eye, employing me for his nitro circus, the main event a flying Hyundai. Then sit back watch the race finish, my dreams of glory vanished in an instant, this orange friend flipping in delight, **** you friend I'll get you next time

I like your storytelling! :D I see the cones as part of the racing though. They are a pain sometimes, no doubt about that, but I consider them to be really slow AI cars. Just another obstacle to overcome.

If they start adding squirrels and deer on the road though.....

Dude, that would be so cool. A deer wandering across the track at Alsace!!

I'm pretty sure the assist cones don't affect your vehicle. They just get sent flying out of your way if you hit them.

I have found this to be true for the 100 or so cones that I have hit.

Ive had a cone send me into the air. Went straight up and down, landed and continued on to the win. I think i read on here somewhere that you can turn the cones off or maybe it was just the markers?

Also the pylon challenge is proof that the cones can send you off line lol

Guess I just haven't hit one at the right angle yet then.

I have had a cone appear to lift my front end. I don't know if it actually affected the outcome of my lap, or just freaked me out and caused me to add some terrible input. I will say they do more than bounce off your car, again though I am not sure if it causes anything by itself or just induces a reaction that causes bad things.

Cones that have been knocked over and sit in the middle of the road act as ramp and send you flying has happened to me many times.
I know the ones in driving school do that but I'm pretty sure I've hit the assist cones without any impact to my car.

If that's not the case though, I guess it's a good thing I turn them off most of the time.

Cones definetely affect your car if you go over one. Ruined one of my podiums too. I fear them more in game than in real life.. They give kind of funny variation to the game though..

You might be right but but to happen during a 20 lap job or similar I'd need a long cold shower to reassess the world

There are tracks with cones even with the assist off. I have it off all the time but cones are still about.

Lurking like ww2 snipers
seems like there is some inconsistency with hitting them, I had no control like Zzz at the nurburg, straight off at a tangent.

Duck it, I think we're at peace with the world again regardless
