hi folks im having a little bit of a problem with the onlone side of dirt 3,

when i first load up the game and go to multiplayer itll find games for me to join however if i exit that game then search for a new one it just keeps say " no sessions found , would you like to create one?"

so i then have to exit the game and reload it , im on ps3 btw ,anyone else having this problem?

Sounds new to me, but I'll start off by suggesting the first potential cause for connection issues which catch most people out. What's your NAT type? (Connection test your PS3).

That message usually gets shown when there are no games that meet your criteria. If you were just in one of the games, but the server cannot connect you, it means that someone has joined in your place and the game is now full.

nat type is type 2,

and its not that it doesnt meet my criteris , as when selecting custom match i dont change any options, also when i pick quick match i get the same message

It still means that there are currently no games that are open. You can only join games - even to spectate - if there is an opening. It's happened to me plenty of times: I've logged on to try and find an available game, but there aren't any. That's why you get asked you if you want to create your own game. I know you want some quick fix where you change something in your settings and you'll always be connected to a game, but it doesn't work that way. You only ever get the message you describe if there are no suitable games for you to join.

so out of all the thousands of people playing dirt 3 there might not be a game for me to join??? i find that hard to beleive as i have no problems with any other game.

Yes. It's entirely conceivable if all of the games you are seaching for are full. Let's say there are eight thousand people playing online, and then you want to join. There would already be one thousand games with eight people in them. Which one are you going to join?

ok well then thats pretty crappy for an online game , ifalthought theres thousands of people playing , online in thousands of games and theres not one space for me to join........ actually i find it quite strange

One of the other issues that can happen is the game is not suitable to join, even if there are vacancies in it, usually because your connection is too slow for that game. When a game starts up, an invisible countdown timer begins from the moment car selection is confirmed. If people take too long to join the session - go through the loading screen and select assists, setup and hit 'done' - the game automatically disconnects people from the session to allow the race to progress as smoothly as possible. So if your connection is already too slow, you won't be able to join any of the lobbies. And sometimes people make games private and the only way to enter is to be invited.

I don't know what you seem to think the problem is, but like I said, the only time you will get the message you describe is when there are no suitable games for you to join. It's not something that will be sorted out by changing a few settings - the only think you can do is start your own game or try again later.

ok well interludes thanks for your input, i have since changed my ps3's ip to static and its also going thro a DMZ and ever since ive had no problems, so mustve been my router playing up

I am also having this problem and sometimes when I Exit out of multiplayer and come back in then try and do a Custom search (with everything on ANY) it will work and find MANY MANY games. But noluck today - It's constantly finding NO SESSIONS and that is definitely NOT RIGHT...

Nat Type 2 - All other games work fine.

It's entirely conceivable to win the Lottery jackpot three times in a row. But highly unlikely...
