Just curious. I can't use it cause I have the g27 and can't program the keys. I'm top 50 in the west, but can't get close to the top 10 guys. Not a complain thread, those top guys are impressive.

I've managed to make it to the top 3 in the west (as of yesterday) with out using the ebrake. You can watch replays to see if people are using the ebrake

The only reason I ever use the handbrake is purposes of weight transfer and balance (because it only applies your back brakes). You know, for the rare occasion where you need 0% Front Brake Bias. 
And even then, I think I use the hand brake more so because of how I drive (I play it safe and understeer out of corners typically, since there is a lack of fluid-control over the steering on a controller).
Having said that, most of the top10 ghosts do proper trail-braking without the use of the hand brake.
Also, Choate is god.

I was thinking this too at first, but then I began wondering if you used the e-brake for only a fraction of a second (anymore and I think you would be completely sideways) would the driver in the car even be fast enough to pull the e-brake? Or does he only have time to go through the motion of pulling the e-brake when you are on the e-brake for more than a second?
Maybe I'll go test this...
EDIT: Nevermind just tested it and the driver never pulls the handbrake at all when you do but I totally forgot that the red (!) symbol lights up when you use the e-brake

It would take some skill but it can be done (probably safer if you broke the ratchet mechanism inside so you could just yank and drop it).
