just submitted my complaint
Topic: playstation network
subTopic: Report Behavior

the direct link to the email form is here: http://us.playstation.com/support/ask/

I sent them this btw:
My PSN is TnJF and I'm currently competing in Round 2 of the GT-Academy for Gran Turismo 5. This contest is managed by SCEA and I would like to formally register my disgust with the level of cheating that is going on at the Indianapolis track.
This severe corner cutting behavior is unethical and needs to be stopped before the end of the week. The problem is just getting worse the longer SCEA/Nissan don't do anything. Please restore the integrity of the competition and remove those who have proven their sportsmanship to be flawed.

ALL cheaters deserve to be DQ'd. This is ridicioulus, unacceptable. Its like we there some kids in this competition who think they can cheat their way out.

I will not cheat, and if I don't make it to round 3 with my legid times, let it be. I dont want to be a part of this BS.

If it were me....DQ'd and ban console from racing or accessing any online portions of gt5(if that is possible). Not just a reset of time, BAN.

I find it amusing that cheating becomes a bigger issue after the big first round cut. I expected cheating from the 50k plus first round entries, but now with the best 512 left?

I just started shifting manually, and sitting in 65th or so on Indy; I know I won't make the cut. But this really has to get those that have a legitimate shot really angry.

Tristar, this doesn't have me angry. I was expecting this sort of thing. Heck, I was one of the guys the set the standard lol. If it comes down to cutting corners to make it to round 3 I do it no questions asked. But, there seems to be some rumors about Sony knowing about this and I will wait and let them weed out the cheaters before i get the Dixie Chopper fired up.

the top 10 @ least are cheating in midwest, conmanskills was the last legit guy i saw

I think it's more than that. Conman and Chiefdnd were clean, not sure about thegreatone228. The tough part is figuring out who should be 80th but they cut and still only got to 20th, just as bad and if their Toscana is fast enough they might bump someone who didn't cheat.

I like a solid DQ. Thanks for playing try again next year without the cheating.

I called the Sony Marketing number, the lady essential hung up on my by forwarding my call to a black hole. I also called the generic SCEA support number, he was no help at all, and couldn't even give me a number for anyone to call.

Has anyone had any luck getting in touch with someone that at the very least knows what "GT Academy" is?

The greatone's cheating. he's a controller.

There is now a problem with this.....

Unless SCEA clear this up quickly legit players maybe thinking the only way to get into the next round will be to cut corners.

SCEA need to clarify this....and quickly.

I do not think that consoles should be banned and people stopped from competing ever again.....some "cheaters" maybe feel forced to cheat because without doing so there is no chance of progressing.

The fact is there is an exploit, and exploits are there to be exploited and people will do that.

All it needs is clarrification and possibly the timers reset, so the people that cheated can post a legitimate time....and if there quick enough then fair play to them.

The problem with this train of thought is the fact that these guys aren't really putting the effort into going faster. They are using a crutch to put them at the top of the leaderboard. They may not have made it there in the time alotted. So they really need to be dq'd as that would put people that aren't using the cut and driving cleanly with a bit of a chance to become a REAL RACE CAR DRIVER. I would love to see what would happen at a real race if this were to happen.

Stuff like this happens in racing all the time - you would get black flagged, or if you made a pass taking a line outside course boundaries, you would be forced to relinquish the gained position.

I have called Sony, Nissan, and posted on the GT Academy facebook, and sent multiple emails to Playstation. I have done everything possible to express my disgust with this. I too, will not cheat and agree the corner cutters need to be banned. If Sony/Nissan lets this continue it just shows they are not taking this seriously and are just in it for the publicity.

My faith in the GT series is on it's last strand.

Believe me i do think they should be disqualified.

But....imagine this....you genuinely believe you are fast enough to progress to the next round. SCEA have provided no clarrification on the issue and theres only 6 hours left until the competition ends and your way down the leaderboard due to it being full of cheaters.

You are a clean driver and dont cheat...but i can see why some genuine drivers maybe tempted to cut the corners as there places are being robbed by cheaters.

Hence why i think the action of banning someone from accessing online and banning there PSN is a bit extreme. But DQ'd from this competition, too dam right they should be. Its a competition which promotes clean and real driving so cutting corners should not be allowed, there here to find a racing driver, and the cutting corners saga is clearly masking true talent.

Please can we limit this thread to listing offenders?! If you know of different people that are cheating, please report them and IP update the list.

Dude there are atleast 60 people cheating for sure but there is no solid way of telling how many people are cheating in the high 1:50s-1:51s.

^^^^ is totally right, it is hard to tell and the only way I would update is based on time, but that line will continue to drop and the gray area will continue to expand.

Just keep sending the e-mails and hopefully we will have our justice for the moment :)

You might as well add anyone who used the runoff at Cape Ring. Oh wait, that would eliminate the Academy in its entirety. :ill:

Get over yourself. I take it you were too slow to make it out of round 1?

I take it you weren't good enough to do it without cheating? Can't wait to see your Indy replay. Better get on and get it done before they fix it.:)

Were you good enough to advance without taking the wide line at Cape?
