Control Problems - aarrgghh!

After many trouble free months with GT4, in the last few days, I can't control the cars properly! (and not totally down to lack of skill!)
During the wheel calibration at boot up, the wheel doesn't end up centred, but ends up way over to the right, and this I think makes it impossible to control the cars!
I've only got 2 tests to make at silver in International Licence A, and I can't even control the cars after 'Start'!!
Any ideas please!!!!!!!

The first thing I would recommend is checking all of the wheel's wired connections. GT4 auto-calibrates the DFF wheel, so after doing a wire check, you can go to the next step, if you still have a problem.

Thanks but I'm confused! What is 'the DFF wheel'? and what is 'the next step'?
Sorry to be so thick!
Also, I don't think there is any manual calibration in the options.
