I see ppl talking about a DS3 controller but I dont think thats what I have. I have the original controller that came with my PS3. I would like to get into drifting but I dont have the cash to buy a wheel or a new controller right now. I guess what im asking is if anyone uses the factory controller and can actually drift with it

That's the DS3. if you look where you conect the cable for charging. There says DualShock 3 (DS3) =)

It works perfectly.
I've been playing GT5 all this 6 months with joystick and I could tell that DS3 or Sixaxis could do the job, but isn't as good as a steering wheel.

You better get a steering wheel as fast as you could, though, because you're going to regret the actions by delaying the purchase, or you will saying things like "I should've been buying and practicing this stuff long ago..."

Nah.. if you have had your controller since the playstation came out the chances are its a sixaxis controller which is lighter.. the controllers are the same but the DS3 vibrates and the sixaxis doesnt :)

You can drift with it fine. If I can drift with my controller, which is 90% sticky tape, averagely well then you'll certainly be able to.
