I believe my wife is goin to let me buy a small ps3 sim setup for the basement. I hope. I've been looking into some different setups and I think my best bet would be the Obutto oZone, g27, but I have no idea on the monitor.
Right now I'm using a 33" Sony wega that I can't put down there. I'm looking for a 23/24 " flat panel that has extremely low input lag, speakers, and hdmi.
I would like to stay below $200 on the monitor since the ozone is going to destroy most of my funds for shipping :d

I've been looking at an Asus vh238h and a benq GL2450hm I think that's the model. Anyone have any experiences with them?

I say you go for the gusto, get whatever you want, wear the pants, and tell your wife to go make you a sandwich!

hehe

i recently bought an ASUS vs247h. I am no expert in technical specs but from what I understand it has fast response time and to my eyes it has excellent graphics. I am satisfied with it.

The only downside if I would point out is that it doesn't have a built in speaker and only a headphone input is available. I needed to buy an external speaker but normally i play with my headphones on.

Well the 238h was used for MLG a couple of years back and I think it has an overall response of 8.8 ms from input to on screen results. I heard the benq had 5 ms results. I was just wondering if anyone actually had hands on use with either. I'm not worried about picture to much. I played on an old CRT monitor for years and unfortunately I can tell if a monitor has slight frame lag thanks to league play in counter strike.
Guess ill try the benq. And give a review lol

Yea. No. I adore my wife and we make decisions together even if it ends up going not the way I wanted. If she has a legit reason on why I shouldn't get things or do stuff then I abide. The same goes for her. It's called a family, not a dictatorship. ;)

I know you're just joking btw. I actually just leave her chained up in the bedroom with enough slack to go to the kitchen.

Input lag and under 200$ :P that sure is nice though. Don't really need a 3d monitor either. I'm just looking for a basic hdmi ported 24" flat screen. I'll more than likely take it on the road with me too. Maybe I should be looking into power consumption so I don't overload my inverters and set my truck on fire lol

I have Viewsonic monitors, I think you can't go wrong with either Viewsonic or Asus. I'd recommend Asus, they seem to be a little bit better. You can save a little bit of money by going LCD instead of LED and the quality will be nearly the same. Make sure you take into account your room lighting conditions before buying -- some screens are VERY reflective in brightly lit rooms.

They have an Asus VH238H led 23" for 169.99 on newegg. I would prefer a LED due to eye strain being less on one over LCD. I'm just kinda torn on what to get. I haven't really looked into view sonic. I've never heard anything good about them or bad. Just they were okay.
As far as lighting, I'm putting my rig in the basement that's divided into 4 rooms. 2 rooms have windows and 2 don't. I think I have to put it in the room that doesn't have windows so I don't have to run an extremely long cat cable. So the glare won't be a problem.

Would you be so brave if your partner read what you said on GT Planet :dopey:

We have a game room and we have a crafts/sewing room :)
