cool.. USAToday has gone drifting

OMG these morons.. Drop the e-brake?
your looking to get killed going 50mph. Basicly thier telling AM's how to drift . I have an idea lets e-mail then to death and tel them about the stupid e-brake cause alll the media people thikn thats how everyone drifts (looking at that vid does it look like they e-braked( i didnt see a slow down etc)

They explained one 'technique'. Hm..and I've never heard of that guy..Just e-mail them saying they should watch the drift bible before telling anyone anything about drifting..

They should've definitely put 'Beginner Technique' in there. Using the ebrake the way they describe is definitely a beginner technique and I think the only reason they said that was so all the civic-kids will be able to try it. Oh well.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I've seen that guy in a drift video before, though I can't remember which one. He definitely knows what he's talking about, but I just think they messed it up anyway. I think they probably asked him to describe a beginner technique and then just used his description for their "DRIFT TECHNIQUE" guide without adding the 'beginner' in there.

Whats hilarious is that 90% of the people here that drift in GT3 seem to know (and probably do know) more than every single newpaper/usa crap/News article out there combined and times it by 3..

thx i couldn't understand him i think he is a ricer/skater
(news report:two teenagers die of wreckless driving on a nearby mountain the parents of the two teenagers say that their sons where watch a cartton called initial d and they watch the new (usa today)which told them how to do it )

Why did you just post four times in a row? You could've just edited your post.

The guy in the article/webpage isn't a "ricer/skater" (whatever that is), he's a drifter..and a fairly good one. I'd be willing to bet that he knows more about RL drifting than almost everybody on this board, myself included. I think they probably just took his description out of context.

He never says that

yeah, he's been told millions of times..

anyway..

if you see this post:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/t-34385.html
Pros DO use the e-brake... it's nothing wrong with using it IMO.. it is just another technique...

I sent them hatemail for putting a poser in a drift report from a reputable news source, they could have done a BIT better research, cuz 95% of the info he gave was totally bogus, grrr.

going 50 and pulling an e must be a tremendous screamming on the ears, ive done 180's and 270's with a geo metro going like 40 in the dirt or rain, and like 30-35 on the street and that was the loudest screeching ever. any one elaborate on sound?

My wife owns one of those.........pulling the ebrake at even 25mph is ear-shattering........BTW: why the hell would you want to drift a geo?????

i think you should do a lil more research.. alex is one of the better drifters, in the us. he owns battle version, which makes drifting parts.

i thnik the pros don't e brake or just hold the ebrake down i thnik they just pull it and let go but this guys says just hold it

he doesnt say to hold it.. he says to pull it, and then control it with steering and acceleration

omg sources driftsession... this is bull****

have you ever been to driftsession??? i have 6 friends who enter driftsession 1 and 2 and they've had the chance to drift with people like komatsu and bai, as well as members from drift extreme (who by the way almost always qualified for the d1 gp main events) as well as 2 members from team julius. just because we dont have the money to bring down all the guys from the d1gp doesnt mean we lack the credibility. we've been holding drifting events for much longer then most parts of the united states. i mean driftsession was already featured in drift magazines in japan way before the idea of d1usa even came up.

OMG these morons.. Drop the e-brake?

have you watched the best motoring drift bible??? The drift king himself, Keiichi Tsuchiya shows you how he became the best drifter ever. what is one of his main points??? learn to control using the ebrake. Its a universal technique that needs to be used in order to maintain a long and smooth drift. sure clutch kicks and powerovers are good, but the best way to fine tune a drift is by using the ebrake.

I agree! the E-brake has multiple uses....that's why they have those drift cars with ebrakes that don't lock into position when being pulled, like conventional E-brakes that are installed in stock cars today

this lack of the locking mechanism allows the driver to use a precise amount of E-braking inorder to control the drift of the car....

when he says they got information from drift session, hes not dissing drift session. I belive hes dissing them for only using that bit form drift session, and that its BS..Yeah..

ok for all of you who are calling the guy who's talking a poser or a wannabe...he's not. obviously you guys dont know about top american drifters, cuz thats one of the best we have. that's alex pfeiffer. if you've never heard of him, i suggest you watch some videos featuring american drifting, like on the scene 3: drift USA. he drives the battle version ae86, and is one of america's top drifters. he knows what he's talking about, the site just took what he said into the wrong context.

alex pfeiffer is not a poser, he sat next to me at D1GP near the end of the night, and he was drunk as hell and yelling HACHI ROKU at ueo...it was annoying but cool cuz he's alex pfeiffer.

Wow, that was a worthless report... :odd: Reminds me of that report they had on the news about street racing and that dumb ass couldn't beat a civic with his three different mazdas... something like that. I remember street racing here (I never raced, I wasn't that stupid just wanted to see the cars which weren't all that) this dumb ass in a supra got his ass whipped by a S4 with 4 people in it.
