An F150 Powerboost is a much better option. Many of the same features for less money, with double the range.

Ford SVT Lightning? SUB-ZERO! Oh, wait... we're talking about the 2022-ish one. A Lightning that's actually ELECTRIC. Now, if we were talking about the late 1990s to early 2000s SVT Lightning, I'm calling Sub-Zero all the way. We aren't talking about that one here. Instead, I'm not overly intrigued about this electric-spec pickup truck of America's best-selling vehicle of all time. It's there if you want one, but if you're wanting to get excited for this F-150 Lightning, expend your excitement on some other Ford or some other truck. Meh is my call on this Lightning.

Looks better than the ICE truck. More practical with the enormous frunk and power outlets. Annoys purists. Yeah this is cool.

Cool just because of the clever usage of the iconic name, and Ford has been dropping the ball with that lately.

A Mustang that’s an SUV? Stupid.

A Puma that’s an SUV? Stupid.

I think though that using the name Lightning that was previously associated with a high-performance V8 F-150 on a newer electric F-150 is super clever. Even though this new one is unfaithful to the name, it’s usage of brand history along with the cheeky reference to its all-electric drive is brilliant.

Also if we get a performance version of the new Lightning, it could be called the Lightning Raptor, which is badass.
