True, but I'm guessing the M3 from NFS MW isn't a 'real' car :sly:

...and I guess when you say Most Wanted, you're not talking about the rather excellent re-make one thats just come out?

well I suppose not but effectively the same thing. And yes the original, I do want the remake too, I love anything done by Criterion.

I seen you were playing Beat Hazard Ultra earlier too, Awesome game.

I know late to the party or what!

I got it because I've been playing it most of the week on my phone and thought what an amazing game! How have I missed this!?!?!? Remembered I had seen it on PSN many moons ago and thought it would be good to play it on the big screen as well :)

Omgomg. Christmas present for myself?!

DO IT! :D

The other thing I like about Criterion's approach, they haven't gone down the 'tacky' Fast N Furious underground street racing route (the older I get the more I hate that side of car customisation  neon lights? Eh no! :indiff: )

What you get is some of the finest performance cars straight from the box, there are 'upgrades' you can apply, but nothing to destroy the cars look.

The game itself works rather nice, using the Burnout model you freely drive around the city looking for races, and watching out for the police! This is an area they have excelled in! The police will chase you at any point of the game if you are driving outside of the law, doesn't matter if you are free driving or during a race!

There was this one time I had just finished 2nd when the police had spotted us. The one who finished 1st managed to evade them but for me it took me almost 15 minutes to evade the police after a 5 minute race!!!! It was as if the game had created a totally random extension to the race I just had, as if the next time I did the same race I might not bump into the police, it just felt like real risk vs reward gameplay, and totally unstaged!!!!

Granted its not GT5, but I wouldnt want it to be, its an arcade racer, and thats what you want from an NFS game, the cars feel really nice to drive, I play it on the pad with an external view to watch the damage build up on those gorgeous body panels that almost make me cringe to see, but its all good fun! :D

Oh you can even upload a photo of yourself through the autolog website, and when you get a reputation you see it on police wanted billboards throughout the city!

Colours time......chrome orange Subaru BRZ on green rims for the club and matte light silver on red rims for the Mx-5,staying with number 42.

I'll get it soon... I have essays to do/finish. But I really wanna get it ^^

Is there any body modding at all? I liked how in the first MW I could make my DB9 look like the DBRS9 :3

I tried the demo of Most Wanted and quite liked it, almost to the point of buying and checking out if any of my PSN contacts got it (so I was nicely surprised to see you're talking about it).

The only issue I have with the game is that driving with the steering wheel (in my case the DFGT) is disappointing. I know I shouldn't compare with GT5, still... And it looks like you can't go for a manual gearbox?

Oh, and the bumper view is too low...

Thats why I play it as it was intended!

Arcade racers are always 3rd person view on the pad! :D

Can you go manual on the pad? I can't play with an auto box...

Its not structured like that, its like Burnout, there's no need for a manual gearbox. (as strange as that sounds) You just don't have the time to use gears, you never notice it! The action is so fast, believe me there isn't time! L2 & R2 to accelerate and brake, press and hold both to pull off awesome drifts :sly: X button is the boost, right stick is the camera control - simple controls for instant action :)

Not sure if I confirmed myself for the two special events, but could I do so now please? I will get some photos up of my cars later on... :)

EA did say they were splitting the NFS franchise 3 ways to cater for people who liked different aspects of driving games.

The original style from back when the series launched in the 90's on the 3DO with the likes of the re imaged Hot Pursuit (Fixed A to B racing) and the hybrid remake of Most Wanted (Open world racing)

The NFS Shift games were created to cater for people like us who enjoy GT5 or Forza...

As for the third category of those who want the neons and tribal tattoos like the Underground series, nothing really has appeared as of yet, you could say Pro Street was vaguely based on that but ended up being more biased towards what would become the Shift series.

I'm guessing though the way EA work, each year a new NFS game would come out, just like their sport games, so we've had Shift 2, Hot Pursuit and now Most Wanted, so who knows, next year you might get the version you're after with the heavy modding???

Fab pics of the Suzuka special Omnius :)

OK well I can put a picture up of my FR-S, but not my MX-5 as yet. I did not realise it was DLC, and went to try and purchase it tonight only to realise that the Playstation Store is undergoing maintenance this evening!

OK, here is my FR-S:

I don't want heavy modding, the neon and stuff is rubbish. I just like proper body kits that look like the GT3 cars etc. Also I just really liked NFSMW the original...

OK, colours chosen for both of my Season 6 cars...:

Here is my FR-S:

Light metallic blue with orange wheels :)

Seems like we are getting a nice variety of colours on the grid 👍

Well I don't know how Fridays will work for me yet but I'd like to give it a shot and at least try and be a part of season 6. I'll have to go back and read the first post and see what you need from me to sign up but I look forward to what races I can do with you.

Nice one Jammy! Your MX5 has that 'Gulf' feel 👍

Good to see you back! I'm sure whatever races you do it will be good to see you back on the Grid :D
