Looking forward to it! I'm not going to be able to get much practice in, maybe a few laps on Thurs night I'm hoping, but at least the car feels fairly easy to drive in standard setup. Won't have chance for much in the way of tweaking though!

Just a quick question to the MX-5 spces. It says fully tuned, does that mean i have the option between the supercharger and the high end turbo? I know the turbo nets more bhp, but the charger gets you more torque (and a nicer shift band). Being able to chose either would be a nice way to mix things up.

Also just to remind you on my Club colors if you haven't caught them: Aline White on Formula Red rims.

Its a good question Third... I know that Omnius had previously suggested a turbo in the quest for maximum power, but I am not sure if that was a suggestion or a stipulation, as like you say it could add an element of variety with one type of power delivery suiting some drivers more than others.

I don't think the supercharger would be as good overall. The mx-5 is a high reving engine so you never really lose the turbo boost.

On the Acceleration test the Supercharger bested the turbo on everything but top speed. On a stop and go circuit with steep slopes, the supercharger would demolish the turbo in performance. But since that is out of the picture (and easy to check since supercharger = no boost gauge) i guess there is no secret advantage hunting.

All in all, we should have quite the season, lets hope we get as many as possible this Friday from our signed drivers :D It should make for a good race...Trial Mountain will never be the same 👍

Now running in my Mazda as I only got 279 BHP. Had a few laps at trial mountain tonight. Feels great, and was getting 1:31.xxx. Hopefully bob can add a few horses. Looking forward to tomorrows race. The car is fantastic at Trial Mountain.

Mine is up to 282 bhp now after 118 miles on the car altogether. I was also getting 1:31's but this was offline.

Are we using the chevron's on the way into the tunnel as part of the track or is that considered cutting?

Chevron's all the way, a bit of paint isn't going to stop us!

Actually, with this being a 2hr endurance, that will be considered part of the track, if we were racing it as a Championship or Club race, I'd say otherwise. :)

Not long to go! :D

One question, where can I find the list of the club cars? I dont want to choose the same car the most of us uses, even if it is the same platform.

Also, I might not make it to the club endurance, because I might have guests over that night or hung over from the 19th. Also the world ending and things. But thats why its a might not, as opposed to can not.

Oh blimey, where have you found those extra two seconds lol! I was getting 1.31s last night ;)!

I was getting 1:31.1xx last night with 279 BHP. Now run in fully, so hoping to loose 0.5 of a second on that tonight.

I haven't compiled one, but what I can say is the BRZ is out in front, followed by the 86GT and the FR-S is bringing up the rear.

So you could say the FR-S would be the one to go for 👍

Right. FR-S it is for me then.

As for colors, probably black/black, shinigami style. Last season I was the light side of death, this time I am the dark side of it.

Congratulations to Geordie139 for an epic win in what turned out to be a monster of a 2hr race!

S6 Championship looks like it will be quite close over the normal races :D

Good racing too from Third_Reign, Dowlin39 & Fuelmyfire! 👍

Epic race last night Omnius. Really enjoying these longer races now. I find them very demanding on concentration after an hour and a half, but that is part of the experience. I went for a 2 stop strategy, and my fastest lap was a 1:29.4xx. The car felt very nice, and I think we will see some awesome battles throughout S6. Going to have some SC practice tonight, as its only just a week until the 24 Laps of Lemans.

What an epic race!

Qualified with a 1:28.864 granting me pole position. That was short lived as cold tires and a touch on the sand before the double tunnel complex got my rear to step out and allow geordie past. The first twenty laps where some of the best racing I've had online. Dowlin, geordie and me where all on the same pace. Our fighting triple got split up do to a slight lag sadly. As dowlin tried to pass me on the back straight he went slightly wide on the corner, allowing me to slip through the inside again. He apologized for something, but as far as I noticed there was no contact anywhere throughout the maneuver (crossing line maybe?). Next thing I see Dowlin have a small lag spike and touch the wall, which sadly put a bit of space between us.

Good position fights continued with geordie, who's tyres seemed to give away a bit faster than mine. Having a bit of breathing space I tried to figure out when to pit. A 2 stop strategy would have meant pitting at lap 26, but once that came around my tyres still showed roughly 75%. I decided to take the risk and see how a 1 stop would play out. geordie pitted at 26, so i tried to keep a good pace and not push the tyres too hard. The early battles seemed to take their toll towards the end thought. My pace dropped too far and I started to notice the pace could not suffice to keep geordie behind.

My pit stop happened at lap 39 and placed me 20secs behind geordie, whose tyres should have at least some wear from his half stint. I managed to reduce his lead to about 12 secs, enough to reclaim first with some breathing room. After geordies 2nd stop I got a bit too much air on a jump in the first corner complex, causing me wide into the dirt at the final turn. I caught the drift in the dirt and managed quite well until a few meters into the track. The over-grippy rHards suddenly gripped and tossed me around facing the other way. This spin cost me 9 seconds and put geordie close behind me on fresh compound. The slide also cost me quite a chunk of tyre. Not long after geordie blew past me, but i managed to keep up. Same exact situation again for me a few laps before end. I went wide, drifted well, snapped around by sudden grip. This time dowlin profited an was right on my tail. After another small slide out of a corner and dowlin managed to pass me on the back straight. I could only keep his pace but not reclaim my position. The tyres suffered too much from those small rally excursions and the followup spins.

I'm really looking forward to the main season if racing will remain this close.

I found reducing the rear downforce from 50 to 40 loosens the rear ever so slightly (as not to lose control - it still feels planted) which evens up the tyre wear, so you get a bit heat in those rear tyres, plus you get a touch more straight line speed :)

Great racing last night guys :-) overall my own performance was disappointing, but had a cracking few battles with various guys in the first 20 laps. The first ten were great especially, battling with Ade, Fuel & Cobrius, but a few silly mistakes put me down for the order. Then I refuelled but was stationary in the pits for an age as I inadvertently filled up to the brim - D'oh! Still not confident with refueling after I ran out at Spa and almost did at Suzuka.

After that it was a lonely race, save for a few laps following Omnius, and Fuel/Ade in the middle of the race. For whatever reason, I couple never replicate the pace I had fighting with the other guys in the opening laps...

I have a question about qualifying. I'm sure I was about 5th fastest with a about 3 mins to spare. Then I went back to the lounge to change my setup then back to the track (didn't have time for a lap). I then started at the back of the grid to my surprise. Does that mean if you exit back to the lounge then your time gets wiped? I'm sure other guys could well have bettered my time but was surprised in the short time that was left.

Well I took some advice from third on setup after the race and today managed to improve my lap time by a second to 1:29.4 which was heartening. But front tyre wear seems to be an issue. For whatever reason I seem to heat up my front tyres red when cornering, no matter what I was doing setup wise I could not get rid of the tyre scrub and heating up red... I was trying to drive smoothly in the 2nd half of the race but seemed to suffer more than most with tyre wear.

Any tips greatly appreciated. It doesn't seem to be in the braking phase, they light up red in cornering, with the squealing noise even when I was trying to be careful not to push too hard. I was watching other cars in the replay and they didn't seem to suffer with this to the same degree on the same corners as me.

Oh, my car was down to 272 bhp after the race. I take it this was the same for everyone?

Yeah, 272 here, but a quick oil change and you will be at the 285 limit :)

Try the downforce tip, you'll find the rears heat up better and try lowering the front downforce too as I tried Third's settings and don't light up my tyres.... :indiff:

Ok will give it a go thanks Omnius :)

Did you see my question about qualifying - wanted to know whether the times are lost if you exit to the lounge then back onto track? For example did yourself and a couple of others produce late lap fliers in the last couple of mins of the sesh to put me to the back as I was about 5th before I went back to lounge to tweak setup.
