Dont know what happened, but pitted on the end of lap 8, and screen froze, and then got "you have been disconected" message. Then screen just locked and had to turn PS3 off with the back switch. When I turned it back on it said PS3 had not been shut down properly, and then went through file restore. GRRRRR. I may need t buy a new PS3 before long.

I just knew something had happened! It wasn't like a normal disconnection :eek:

Total shame as we were both on the same pace! Had a brillant 4-5 lap battle until you came in too strong on the inside of the hairpin and ran wide :crazy:


Top marks to Jamesy & Geordie for their text book race! Also it has to be said if you now check the overall season table, you will see that none other than our very own trotterlover is now up to 4th!!!!! That's commitment for you! He's stuck in each week and it's now paying off 👍

We are now into the end game, a couple of us have our own personal goals to bring home, with only 3 rounds left, will there be an upset on the cards? :sly:

Not sure why it done it, but earlier in the evening I had a couple of practice laps for SC with a mate from work, and the same thing happened when he left the room. It just seemed to freeze, and I got stuck in the lounge and had to switch off the PS3 to get out. But in your race, I had to switch the console off at the back. I have saved my data, and will do a system reset this morning, then re install GT5 and all updates.

This is the funny thing - a few of us went round to a guy's house a few weeks back and my girlfriend's brother had told the guy I was sorta handy on GT5 (lies, obviously - all who read this thread will know that) and that nobody had ever beat him round the big 'Ring - I said if I had my wheel I'd beat him coz DS3 is a pile of dung. So we went to select the 'Ring and we couldn't get it coz he lost all his data the week before. That scared me so I bought an external hdd the very next day (think I posted on here requesting advice on them) and put all my game saves on it. Never got round to a full backup but hope I got the saves successfully copied - tried to access hdd on PC but it wouldn't appear - maybe coz the PS3 uses a different format to a PC???

Cheapest 160GB I have seen so far is Argos with it at £178 I think. Anybody know of any cheaper? Wanna go new this time. My current one was second-hand off eBay.
 
I know of a fix if you want to get it up and running again. Will post the link when i get home.

Really enjoyed last nights race, even though i cam last still got some points. im so glad i have stuck with it as im 4th in the table. not for long though. :-D

Page 1 will be fully updated, details of the remaining 2 races and tables of season 4 will appear at the bottom of page 1 as a temporary measure for housekeeping purposes :)

This is to give everyone the chance to get prepared for S5 with the new layout 👍

Good fun track, and good racing tonight. I was off the pace, but had a few good tussles. 👍
 
A track with potential for sure, when you get into a rhythm. Prehaps the TVR is a bit of a beast for the tight sections and a lower powered car would work really nice at Black Fell Park?

I had a bit of a nightmare after the 'shower' during qualifying - started on bloody inters!!! in the dry :ill:

Still it was a nice solid race even if we were light on drivers! Which reminds me, if you read this Joy, unless something came up tonight, I hope you will be able to make more appearances in S5, as you did say you were in for tonight, but you didn't show :indiff:

Anyway, on with the show....

Congratulations go out to jamesybograt for winning the TGT Championship! 👍

It looks like geordie139 is on to snatch the Club Racing number 1 spot next week as jamesy won't be here, but the overall Season may just come down to the wire and the final TSR!

👍 I'm pleased you like the choice! I had a play around with a few different cars (as always) but there was something that felt good about the RM NSX, its a nicely balanced car even if the power is quite reserved!

Lets see how everyone else reflects on the choice, as well as the Club Racing options! :sly:

Same as before, but this time what you choose is your 'Club' car for the whole season :)

It's so we still stick to the '2 car' season approach and it keeps it simple for practicing/setting up as only the tracks change rather than going back to my original championship idea of constantly changing cars every week :crazy:

Tip!

Keep your Club Car under wraps until our first Club Race - You don't want the competition getting on up on you! :sly: :lol:

Remember, PP 455 isn't always about max tuning and trying to use the Power Limiter to squeeze into the PP requirements :crazy:

Hopefully this should give us some close and fun racing with a 'return' to the mixed grids of my original championship vision :) ...but remember what car you choose is your car until the end of the season, so choose carefully 👍
 
For any new visitors to this thread, as we are 2 weeks until the start of Season 5, page 1, first post has been updated with all the new requirements and layout changes so be sure to check it out.

The remaining 2 races of Season 4 and the current leaderboards are at the bottom of the first post for 'housekeeping' purposes and as we are still in Season 4, this gives any new drivers a last chance to join in for the last race potentially to checkout the CORE before they commit to the new season

Back to Season 5, once you have all chosen your Club Car and after the first Club Race I will create a table with everyones chosen car, I think it will be quite exciting to see what people go for, and how you all decide how to tune them to fit into the 455 :) 👍
 
one question about the 455PP cars ..
is there a PP limit to what you can choose?

(eg 550PP then taken down to 455PP or do you wnat it to be less than 455PP then raised to spec)

BTW i have my car picked already and just have to take the dust sheet of my old GOLDNSX
 
No limit on what so ever! If you wish to go big and reduce thats fine, as long as you're happy you potentially have less tuning options (weight & additional parts) that effect performance if all your tuning comes from Power limiter :)
