No problem, I know its not a guide or anything and alot of them are for cars with every performance part but they usually will point you in the right direction 👍

Wow last time I looked at this thread my car was fast and come back to see it sucks. LOL. Guess I got some homework to do. Might just need to learn to tune the thing. BTW enjoyed the first race on Friday. Hope I can get up to speed to contend by the end of the season. Does anyone know of any good tuning guides for the game? Seems what works in real life doesn't work exactly in the game or at least that's been my experience.

I don't think you've got anything to worry about with where you'll finish this season! 2nd in your debut 👍

Have you checked out the race photos and our last lap drama?

Down to 7 possible cars now, a fun day of testing ahead 👍

I used to go to that site Omnius but i just find the other one easier to use and its all colourful and stuff :P

EDIT: I'm at a bit of a crossroads with my cars right now. I've narrowed it down to 3 cars now. I'll call them A, B and C. A and B are both very similar and very, very quick and great to drive and can consistently set 1:12:xxx and are very capable of 1:11:xxx times on Grand Valley too. But C is just a mad fun car which is pretty quick but, judging by the times posted here, is a good bit off the pace. It sets low 1:14:xxx regularly and the odd high 1:13:xxx so its much slower than A and B but I'd love to see it in the photos and replays and hear the reaction it would get if i turned up in it Friday.

I went to Deep Forest aswell to see what times they could set and its pretty much the same story, A and B within a few tenths of each other setting low to mid 1:26:xxx and C setting high 1:27:xxx to low 1:28:xxx. I hate decisions... :P.

Sorry for this pointless post I just feel like writing today :sly:

Just if anyone wants some times to compare against for Nurburgring GP/D and Deep Forest Reverse...

Deep Forest: 1:25:735 (Dowlin39)
Nurburgring GP/D : 1:42:920 (Jamesybograt)

Yea they look nice. That was a close one. LOL

I'm just looking at what everyone else is posting for times and I just can't seem to find a car fast enough. Either that or I suck at that track. Or I haven't figured out the tricks to tuning yet. Has anyone found any data on which gives the most advantage: taking off weight or adding horsepower to get a car to the right PP?

I seemed to run near the same times either way. 👍

I really enjoyed last nights race, and am now a bit gutted that I didnt continue with my damaged car. I should have carried on and tried to compete with the other cars that were not behaving.

I know that Shin and Jammy wanted to see the replay. Here is my saved file. You will have to click on the link, and then download RPL003 , and paste ALL THE FILES in a folder called SAVEDATA, and then put that folder into another folder called PS3. Hope it works.

Hi, sorry if I'm being dopey but what do I have to do with these files to make them run, I have to stick them on the ps3 somehow? Thanks :-)

You need to put those files onto a usb memory stick in a PS3/SAVE folder then plug that into your PS3 copy them over and from within GT5 go into the Replay Centre and 'Import' them....if memory serves me well

some cars can run low weight and others need the weight to give grip.
its seems to be all about the tyres, they seem to have a maximum lap time no mater what car you drive .
if you are having trouble with set-up of a particular car or just need some help deciding on what would be suitable let me know and help will be forthcoming.
you could always join our practice room (me and dowlin) and have a chat about what is competitive ..

Yeah I'd say we'll be on tomorrow anyway, jamesy is heading off now but i might still be on, if im not we'll see you tomorrow 👍

I say testing as you are not obliged to bring your 'chosen' car, but more so if you are still on the fence at any of your fringe cars :)

I will update the thread with the Car Table where come tomorrow's race, the car you join the track with is your final choice.

Catch you tonight 👍

ROOM OPEN 👍

That's ok ade, it was more just because jamesy and Dowlin have been having testing sessions and I thought I'd just open a room tonight to give them a break :) I'm just messing with stuff as I think I'm sorted with my car

As I said before, I've created a spreadsheet to record our final car choice, on this table I'm recording what the BHP and Kg of our 455pp cars are for 2 reasons, firstly to see how you have 'spent' your 455pp's and secondly to see across the Club events which car performs better (power vs weight) - obviously this isn't a scientific test as driver skill makes up at least 50% of the real results, you can have the best car, but if you cannot drive it.......

So if you can all post your BHP and Kg after Club Race 1 I'll add them to the table 👍

I was planing on changing my BHP and downforce depending on track, or am I not allowed to?

As for my car, I've found one I am comfortable with, but my pace isn't anywhere near where it should be. It might be due to GVE, as I can't really get the feel for it in Reverse configuration. So I'm hoping the car choice I made isn't too far off.

Yes you are, I didn't explain that correctly :dunce: the table will show the '4' races and if you are running DF also :)
