i thought it would be great for the forum users to start discussing the ideal lines, suggested gears and braking markers to use for the track for the tuned and road 370z.

for example: fast in and slow out for turn 1 and the corner before the 2 tight hairpins......

How do you fast guys get round the really slow hairpins?? do you try to keep your speed up and take a wider line or try to cut the track and sacrifice some speed.

I rather take it wide and start accelerating earlier. Don't know if that's the fastest way though.

yeah, but some ghosts i downloaded were taking the corner before (the left hander after the back straight) very fast and running right to the far right. Then they take the right hander hairpin as tight as possible. Is that faster than taking the left hander slower for a wider entry into the right hand hairpin???
anyone who has played around with these 2 lines, help much appreciated....

also what gear are people using in the left hand corner after the back straight and before the 2 hairpins?

I use third for the corner before the hairpin, you just hit the limiter before your braking point for the S and then I change in to second in the apex of the first bend, floor the throttle when I'm straight and tap the brakes for the second corner, then gradually apply throttle to get out of the corner, short shift in third and brake early for the final corner, keep in third and acclerate round the apex and be as smooth as you can round the curve.

That helped me get about 3 tenths.

Also for that hairpin before the back straight just keep it in third and about 3/4 throttle round it. The floor it till you get to the next corner.

Bearing in mind I'm not very good but that's how I found lots of time.

Found an interesting track map with gear/speed changes when F1 use to race in this track configuration. Good luck with your times.

I've been carrying speed through the left hander and then hugging the kerb through the first hairpin in 2nd gear. Feeding on the power then short shifting to 3rd as I turn into the left hander for good exit speed. 👍

First remark: I noticed, you need to remember when your brain wanted to break and then review when the car actually did break. After that you can compare to replays of others.

Second: most struggling still with Turn 4,7 and 11 in the stock car. Can not get clear markers + the breaking is subtle. Generally end up going wide or too slow and losing a lot of time.

Turn 4: with the stock car I need to go wide after turn 3, not to start slipping. When I'm coming close to the edge a slight break (to 104km/h), turn in and then let the car run, slowing down to 94 in turn 4 then accelerate again.

Turn 7: you come out of turn 6 accelerating in 2nd and need to slow down to 85 km/h quickly, best in 3rd, to follow the inner tire marks coming out of Turn 7. Accelerate early when you have the line. I generally miss this line.

Turn 11: Accelerating after turn 10, need to slightly break just before turning in, to 108 km/h, let the car run and slow down to 101 km/h and start accelerating gently once over the rumble strips.

That is my theory, practice is still lacking this execution.

Ditto. Though I find it a bit weird you can't exit in 2nd without losing speed.

hey, Vince_Fiero

i take turn 6 in 3rd, because you can control the car's speed without upsetting the car's balance so you can keep up a higher corner speed. This allows you to hug the car to the left in order to have a good line for 7, try a late apex here and make sure you apex pretty much 1cm away from the curb for a good run on the straight.

their my thoughts added.....for more help.
