Corrupted data

I have had GT2 for nearly three weeks. I took a break from it for a week, and despite the fact it's a pristine disc, the data's now corrupt. I tried GT1 to see if that had the same problem, that was alright. What's going on? Is this normal? What can I do to stop this happening again?

You probably turned off the system while it was saving. Exit out of the save menu just to make sure before you turn off the console.

I've always done that since I got GT3 four years ago, though I've heard that max speed records have something to do with data corruption.

Ah yes, the garage bug. Just don't do more than 10 machine tests. I hardly do machine tests anyway.

I don't think the garage bug will corrupt your actual save; otherwise you wouldn't know it was a garage bug. Anyway, it sounds to me like there was some sort of issue during loading or saving. Perhaps you bumped the memory card/jarred the system at a bad time, or didn't have the memory card firmly connected...?

I even turned it off (the PS2) and took a look at the memory card and made sure it was in properly. Oh well, just have to do those darn liscense tests AGAIN
