Corvette C6R OFFICIAL PICTURES! Update 1-10-05!

From what I can see, its a hell of a lot better than the C5R. I also have a question concerning another car, why won't Dodge enter the new viper into the GTS class? I really miss the Oreca vipers battling it out against the corvettes.

Now only if the street version looked that good. The C6R looks gorgeous! Most likely better then the C5R.

People like to talk about tuner car people that have bright, flashy colors, this Millenium Yellow (or is it Canary Yellow?) is no different. I still love the black and silver Goodwrench colors. I might like this car with this, or maybe that blue/whire/red Corvette that raced Le Mans recently. The only thing I like about the latest Corvette race cars is the body, but needs the right livery to make it lovely.

The C6R hopes to keep the GM boys and girls winning in GTS. That is until the Dodge Viper returns to racing, or maybe if Ford sells enough of its Ford GTs to race the Ford GT in ALMS competition. To make American competition good, more American car companies will have to step up to take down Corvette. And of course, it's not like I want to see only American makes win.

I hope for another great year of ALMS and GT/sportscar/endurance racing. Good luck, GM.

If Acura worked to make its RSX look more better, I would like to see GM change up the C6 road car to have it look better. A weird thing I'd say about the prototype sketch is that the headlights kind of look like they've been ripped from the Opel Astra. Not a complaint at all, though.

In a way, the front kind of reminds me of the latest Camaro, only without the extra two ducts on the sides.

The car looks awesome.

I heard Superchargers wernt aloud in le mans and doesn't the Ford GT have a supercarger?
Does ALMS use the same rules as the actual Le mans series?

The maximum size for a GTS (now GT1) class engine is 8000ccs. The old Viper used a 7993cc engine. The new Viper uses an 8300+cc engine. Therefore, it is not legal.

Thanks for clearing it up, maybe Dodge could change the engine a bit to comply with the rules, 'cause I'm really starting to miss those Oreca Vipers.

All they would have to do is knock the Viper down to 8L, not hard.

Supercharged cars are allowed with a maximum of 4L, Ford doesn't want to possibly ruin its sportscar reputation with this new effort. Total bull**** but hey, its Ford call.... of course I won't look at a Ford product ever.

Aston Martin's DBR9 is Ford's effort, technically...

And Oreca is now running Audi R8s.

Really? Didn't know they're now running R8's, well I still prefered them to use viper's thats the first thing that comes to my mind when someone says Oreca, Viper.

Oreca will be running the Audi France team in LMES and LeMans
Champion will be running the Audi USA team in ALMS and LeMans

Audi UK/Veloqx and Audi Japan/Goh are gone.

I'm still torn about the C6's looks, but this thing... it's alright looking. I'm pretty sure that no matter what anyone thinks about its looks, if it can keep winning in GTS (I hope the Lamborghini Murcielago teams win one), it would be a successful followup to the C5R. And if it doesn't do well, they may have to pull a Panoz for the rest of the season. Why did I type "pull a Panoz?" Remember Le Mans 2001 with that new LMP sportscar that would dominate Audi and win one for America? Exactly. It performed so horribly that they immediately went back to the LMP Roadster. Just hope that Pratt and Miller don't have to do this if the C6R ends up a fiasco.
