Hello Forum,
I am in a bit of a debacle right now, where I am trying to use the Corvette ZR1 (C6) 09 to win at Indianapolis in the American Championship. But I am in a situation that is so heinous, I have almost all the upgrades fitted on my Corvette and I should, theoretically, be able to stomp the competition, because I have more horsepower and my weight is about the same as most of my competition...I also gather more speed on the straights. Yet after three attempts I keep failing because my car has this horrendous understeer, and I have tried to get acquainted with tuning, I've read Scaff's guide (I have not been able to apprehend it all yet, though) and I tried to curb my understeer and steer towards the diametrical oversteer, yet after tuning I could not dissipate the understeer. To give you an idea of my dilemma I will explain in further detail, during the straights I am faster they my opponents and can pass them but then in the corners I lose a lot of ground, and they usually overtake me. Unlike them I can only take the corners at 150-160, any faster I find myself creeping up towards inescapable doom (talking about the wall here), they take it at 150-170. I know for a fact that they are taking it at faster speed them me because they are always overtaking me in it.
I really want to figure out how to curb this vexing understeer, here is my current setup with my specs
FR
I have 788 HP @ 1221 kg
I am using Racing Soft Tyres/Tires
Adjustable LSD is all set low 5/10/5
Suspension
ride height 2/0
spring rate 11/4/19.0
Dampers C 4/6
Dampers E 5/7
Anti Roll Bars 5/6
Wheel Alignment
Camber 4.0/1.0
Toe Angle 0.49/0.49 I really don't understand the function of this still.
My knowledge of the whole tuning thing is still quite puerile
